something to do south of I80 - AddictedtoNITRO - 04-12-2008

Here is the beginning stages of my crawler course. This is the base stages and I'm about 1/2 way done with it. The area is 15' by 15' and has room to expand another 20' to the left. When all said and done depending on how many materials I can come up with I'm hopeing for around 500 square feet of crawling area. I'm building the base with logs and sand/black dirt packing it all in. I used to do landscaping so I have some understanding about working with earth lol. I have some rocks I picked up yesterday and in the picture the pile is about 3 feet wide by 10 feet long. I figure I'll need about 5 times more of them lol. My dad is getting me some plaster from the aresonal he works at that they use to seal vaults and stuff. 50 times stronger than crete. lol or so he said. enough talk here's some pics.
There is 1 log on the left side that is so big I had to use my 4 wheeler and winch to move it lol
let me know some ideas I'm definatly open. Oh and matt/John I have more than 1 shovel lol hahaha

I'm in for that. If I ever get too many I'll just fill the hole in the forest I'm making getting all the dirt lol. So far it's about waist deep 4' by 3' or so

here is somewhat is oing thru my brain lol. The red line is the height and the rocks,plaster log climb is all kinda here there placement
I don't know where to put the gulley though but I know I want one lol

dude, you ain't fooling anyone.. under one of those signs that says rocks is logs, and under the other is dirt and leaves, you can't convince me that is rocks.... Big Grin

I'm doing this for us guys south of 80 down here so we don't have to drive over an hour to break something lol all we have now is bubba's underpass

So here is todays update. About 60% done. I gotta get a crap load more rocks but the basics are there and it works well. Bubba came over and we put it to the test. I gotta make some stuff harder but that will be easy. So far I am very pleased with the results.

It's very cool, i'm sure it'll be better when done, the sand is kinda loose but still fun to play around on! Jeff let me know when ya want to work on it and we'll get John over there and put him to work. I think we need to make it taller around that tree! Big Grin

Yea I think bout 3 feet or so taller and taper it out a little more. I have dirt and logs at ease lol. Probaly play on it this week and work on it more this weekend depending on when the wife works
