IIRC some of the Toyota I-4's and V-6's from the same era had trouble holding together that long when you changed the oil at 3,000 miles! Why do I have low oil pressure? Never had one engine failure or repair due to oil issues. Ever. Hondas, Chevys, Nissan....all fine with 7500 interval. But how often do you cahnge the oil in a Hybrid???? they run on electric power some of the miles, right? Why do I have low oil pressure? On the current ones, probaby the same as non-hybrids. Those don't use the engine as much, but still use them iat speeds above 15-30mph IIRC. They just get turned off while sitting in traffic, at traffic lights, while idling through parking lots, ect. The newer ones where the engine is just a generator will probably be much different since it only runs when the battery is low on power or needs hte extra boost of electricity. With a driving cycle like mine, I could go a year between oil changes and probably a month or more between fuel stops in the new style hybrid! |
