you know your back into r/c when.....? - grim digger - 05-23-2009 i broke the con rod to a 32 out of the box just pulled the pull start cord to prime and it never turned over, only did a clicking sound,no fuel nothing in the engine, aint it great? and here's the best part no warranty. axial (paul) told me con rods not covered, told me what i did with out seeing or listening to what i have to say,or even accept it in to check out , told me i over reved it,asked him how with out any fuel in it ,got no response, all he could say is we have exellent warranty service, and how he is a racer and all this jive,i dont think so, took it apart and the con rod was shattered at the crank, good thing about this ,did not damage piston and sleeve no chips made it up to the top of the engine,so i dropped a new con rod after a complete tear down and flushing the engine parts out, chip at al's is checking with the distributor to see about warrantying it or getting me a refund on the rebuild parts engine works fine at the moment still breaking it in and this is my take on i know i'm back in the r/c game, gotta love it:lol: you know your back into r/c when.....? - J-Dub - 05-24-2009 Shoulda bought an OS lol you know your back into r/c when.....? - cheesecake - 05-26-2009 so then he could snap a rod witha more expensive pile of crap... go for it lol you know your back into r/c when.....? - J-Dub - 05-26-2009 he said a .32. the OS 30 has a 2 year warranty you know your back into r/c when.....? - grim digger - 05-26-2009 its still working ,ran over then week end after 7 tanks for break in,but still a little iffy about hitting throttle a bit hard i should of went with a o.s. probly wouldnt of broke you know your back into r/c when.....? - thenewguy821 - 05-26-2009 Sounds like you just got a bad one GD... I had an Axial .32 in one of my trucks, it ran great, all Firesprinks Axials have been fine. you know your back into r/c when.....? - J-Dub - 05-27-2009 only reason I say OS is I know customer service is good, and the warranty on the non race engines you know your back into r/c when.....? - Ponch - 05-27-2009 They warranty the other ones too if you gripe enough. Free vspec ftw you know your back into r/c when.....? - J-Dub - 05-27-2009 Lol Im not one to greif a companys tech support. I have better things to do. you know your back into r/c when.....? - grim digger - 05-28-2009 i will with the money spent on these things, letting them slide is what gets them to treat customers they way they do,and since i go to california about every 3 months now, i pay visits when they act up most if not all of these companies are 15 minutes away from my inlaws.hpi got a visit at the begining of may,no one expected me to walk into the office and toss a 3speed tranny on the table and ask for the customer service guy by name, they act totally different in person so i give grief when i can, besides they need someone to get on there nerves,LOL you know your back into r/c when.....? - J-Dub - 05-29-2009 lol I meant like greifing about say an OS Vpsec. I might grief if it blew up on breakin but anything after like 2-3 gallons might be your problem. But thats just me, I don't like people who try to get stuff for free at work, (auto shop) So I figure others hate it too. you know your back into r/c when.....? - grim digger - 05-29-2009 i hear you on that ,but a new motor with no fuel it, i have to get on them, you know your back into r/c when.....? - J-Dub - 05-30-2009 Oh Yeah def I was just referring to ponchs getting a new vspec after he bitched enough. you know your back into r/c when.....? - Thirdgen89GTA - 06-19-2009 The OS 30vg is pretty much a leased motor. You buy one, it dies, send it in, and they usually replace it. I've bought parts motors on fleabay, assembled them, sent them into OS and wala generally get good as new engine, or a brand new engine back. They did that for the .18tz I sent in, as well as the various 30vg's I've sent in about once a year. As for axial, I'm sure if you have Als send it in for you it'll get covered. The companies are always more likely to trust the word of a hobby shop over a consumer. |
