Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - Krosenqu - 08-10-2009 Cool! This is close to me (carol stream). I might have to show up for this one. MAP LINK IS SPOT ON. Its accurate, I checked. We lined up in this church parking lot for marching band in the "Winfield Good ol' days" parade when I was in West Chicago High School. I was looking forward to this Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - MD6 - 08-11-2009 Will do. Have a good trip. Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - MD6 - 08-16-2009 We had a great day of racing yesterday. It was hot, but the shaded areas of the church parking lot provided areas where some drivers could pit without even without putting up their easy ups. I've never raced with a better group of people who just came out to race and have fun. We had rookie drivers, young drivers, and old drivers. Everyone pitched in to help clean up which we greatly appreciated. Our youngest driver, Ethan did a great job. Angela our rookie driver did a super job. Special thanks to Steve who brought his trailer for our drivers stand and even brought an air compressor. The Slash Class provided the most thrills, spills and fun. Watching six Slashes and one SC10 coming down the long straight away was great fun. There was a lot laughing and friendly kidding in that class. John drove Slash for the first time using a borrowed truck and finished second overall. He did an excellent job! I think their may be a Slash in his future. We had a few more drivers which added to the money that the church will receive. Thanks to all that came. I've included the race results. Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - BJoe - 08-16-2009 Yea, looks like you had a great turnout Mike! Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - MD6 - 08-16-2009 We had a small turnout only ten drivers, but almost everyone ran multiple classes. It was a great atmosphere. Everyone got along well and was out for a good time. There were some very fast touring cars, the Slashes were great and we had two guys ran 16th scale Slashes and they were doing wheelys down the front straight. I tried to attach some pictures, but the files are too big for this site. I'll let you when the race will be in Sept. I hope to see you out there. Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - MD6 - 08-18-2009 The next race will be Sept. 12. BJoe and Krosenqu, I hope you can come. Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - Gene - 08-18-2009 I'm going to try and make this one. (been about 13 years since the last time i raced) Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - MD6 - 08-18-2009 Gene - This would be a great place to get back into it. There are nice people in a pressure free environment. Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - Gene - 08-18-2009 MD6 Wrote:Gene - This would be a great place to get back into it. Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - Krosenqu - 09-04-2009 This would be my first real RC race so I'm not sure what to expect. Would a Rustler with lipo and CC mamba 6900 be acceptable in some class? I also have a duel VXL emaxx. Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - MD6 - 09-04-2009 The Rustler would be good for the off road class. We'll probably have at least two brushless 1/16 scale Slashes there. The Emaxx would run in the same class, unless we have some more monster trucks. You should bring a table and chair. You can set them up in the shaded area of the parking lot. Some people will have EZUP type canopies. If you have a an outlet strip and an extension cord would be good. The other drivers and myself will be glad to help you. If you have other questions let me know. Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - MD6 - 09-04-2009 Krosenqu - You probably know or realize these things, but I thought I should mention them. You'll need to bring your batteries, battery charger, tools, etc. The day of racing will consist of two qualifying races and a main for each class. The qualifying heats and mains are six minutes in length. Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - Krosenqu - 09-04-2009 I appreciate the help. I've never raced before although I've been to a few of the St. Charles Hobbytown USA parking lot races. The emaxx broke a driveshaft so unless I can get that replaced its just me and the rustler Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - MD6 - 09-05-2009 I think the Rustler will be good. It's a reliable, tough truck. Winfield, Il - Rc Racing - Tristar Racing - 09-09-2009 MD6 Wrote:R/C RACING SAT., SEPT. 12 - WINFIELD, IL Is there typically a good turn-out for the Tamiya Mini group? Also, what are the rules for motors and batteries in that class? I have an old M01 Mini that I might bring out, but most likely will stop by just to watch. Ive been out of RC for a while, and the bug bit me once again... |
