I have to admit. The rubber looks good. I like that tread pattern. Might do nice for outdoor.
As for the price on that thing. It better run like a mugen or Kyosho. But as Kev said. Buy it and find out.

To start someone out who is going to just drive around the yard or some park or whatever. Then yea,it is a cheap twin to the Tmaxx basicly. Anything more then that and you really need to stop smokin whatever it is your smokin.

As far as powerplants go the Axial .28 in there is a spec 1, which might wipe some smiles off poeples faces when they see what it does. For a RTR engine its very impressive.

Of the reviews I've read they've had some good stuff to say about it and bad. For someone starting out it wouldn't be a bad buy I don't think. Good power, the plastic parts are actually fairly tough from what I've seen of it.

And from my friends experience withe Kyosho sport truggy I'd say this would win hands down.

It'll get someone started and when they come across a roller they like they can just drop the engine in it cause the Axials do good.

i saw a review online of the mantis. DEFINATELY not worth your time unless youre planning on throw it off a cliff, running it over, or burning it.
