I've heard about this place but have never been there. I can't really tell by their site how far along this track is but
http://www.trackside-hobby.com/TS-Racing-Outdoor-1.html
I've got family/friends there so I'll have them scope it out. It's very easy to get to. It's about 1/2 mi. west of I-94 at the Hwy 50 exit. Right at the railroad overpass. I'm from Kenosha and went to the former Big Buck lumberyard where this track now is.
I'll get more info and post it soon.

I thought I read on a forum that it was finished, but they were just allowing practice on the track, no races. This was a couple months ago, so maybe things have changed.

i think this was the hobby store that bought the AMB timing system when RSJ closed. as well as half their inventory.
they don't have much if any race running experience from what i remember when they were at RSJ. but if you're just looking for a bashing place it might be ok.

I talked to some chick there yesteerday and she said that they are moving the track from where it is now. It'll be right near where it is now but will be indoor. She said they are trying to run nitro also during the winter. I doubt that it'll be as good as LH but if it does happen it might be nice to check out.

My god, there's a new track, just a hop skip and a jump from my place, and I have no idea of it's existance. I've got the DT's; I haven't really raced since LH closed it's doors in May. I'm going to have to check this place out. Satoch, have you been there yet? Anyone been there?
Trackside... Is this place ran by the same Trackside in Milwaukee?

No, it's not the same place as the electric only indoor track called S&N Trackside in a Milw. suburb.
I just got off the phone with the3 owner Ed. They had problems with the city regarding the outdoor track and have closed it.
Come Jan. 1st a second phase of the complex they are in will be done. They are looking at getting a mere 7000 square ft at this point with 3600 dedicated to an indoor offroad electric/nitro track. 1/18th electrics are big for him. He said he gets about 25 racers. Doesn't sound like a lot to me but...
I told him of the size of the Chicago group and our need for a much larger track if he wants us to show up. Frankly, I doubt he will do it-much less do it as well as Bernie. Me. I'm gonna hang with the big dogs!! 1/18th scale my ass.... :puke:
