Vent Tires or Wheels??
#1
Well all my goodies came from Slow Revo today (Thanks!!). I am going to glue up the wheels and tires. They are for indoor, and the wheel is vented already from the factory. Do I need to vent the tire or no? I am pretty sure that venting the tires is for outdoor only, but I am not 100% sure.

Thanks
Dan

I don't think tires need to be vented for indoor use. It's not like it's dusty inside, lol.

I know that I don't wash my tires. Now you say they won't swell as much when vented. Why? The rim is vented and I don't see wht it would make a difference in them swelling under acceleration. If anything I could see it being worse. Aren't I more likely to tear a tire when they are vented as well??

dan u will never rip a tire. When you accelerate anything inside the tire is automatically pushed against the rubber itself because of its inertia. with a vented rim and no vented tire it is much easier for more air "to be sucked in" along with any other junk out there. Once the air is in and you spool up the tires where does the air go? it gets trapped inside the tire for that moment.

Stock white ones. Have heard nothing but good things about them. I prepped a tire so I figured why not cram it in there.

when u get the foam about most of the way, put a thumb ur two of ur fingers on the at the top and bottom of the bead u would glue down and move ur hands in like a rolling motion and the foams will fall right into place then just slide it onto the tire

Vent the rubber and put a sticker to cover the hole on the rim if there is one already there. Mikey is right on the money. If you get alot of mud on the tire from the track getting muddy in spots like between the tubes, the tires get loaded with mud and you have to clean them off. If you listen to Dimo, i have seen him not vent anything and he was riding on balloon tires.
