I just came across a thread on Truggyracers where racers are saying to NEVER use an in line fuel filter, they say it can be a potential serious problem, and one extra thing to watch / hope it doesnt fail. Several guys claim the internal tank filter is more than sufficient for the BEST of engines. The biggest problem people are having is there will ALWAYS be an air pocket in the fuel filter, which will travel into line when you hit a big bump, then your tune goes right down the drain at a hella' bad time, A few people claim they have never had issues........... I guess i want to know your input/hands on experience on this, the standard mbx5t does not come with fuel filter, do i really need to get one?

I dont know or anyone ever having a problem with a filter.....
everybody I have ever raced with runs at least one filter....
the stone filter in the tank is OK but you should get a good screen
filter, like Mugen or Kyosho.....

i dunno man, I am just trying to confirm what they are saying. A lot of them share the same feelings on it
one guys statement:
for every 1 person that has had no problems running one. there are 10 that have had problems.

dont believe anything you read on truggyracers, those dudes are bashers.
They dont know what they are talking about. I would rather change a filter
if it goes bad ( witch I have never seen ) or destroy a $300 engine.
Just a thought........

JB is right, truggyracers is alot of bashers, yes pros do go there but the majority of the posters are just people that are running the piss outta their trucks in their backyard. there is some good info on there but dont take every post on there to heart.

I can only comment on my experiences....
Factory tanks/internal filters on:
Revo - fine (the blown engine wasn't dirt in the fuel related)
RC10GT - fine
TTR ST-1 - fine
two HPI RS4's - both fine
Now, I do make it a point to keep the top of the tank/cap clean as I can so crap won't get in the tank, but racers who are pitting with slop all over the truck during a race can't control that, so the potential for dirt in the tank is higher for them than a basher, who can refuel carefully.

The only other thing I've read/heard....make sure to keep the o-ring in good shape or you can get an air leak at that point, just like a bad tank lid seal.

I'm guilty of not running them, I should but I don't.

Trev-
Truggyracers is a sh!tty site. Im thinking of getting myself banned from over there. The guy who runs the site thinks he knows eveything. He gets sh!t for free from guys like bce and m2c and then Screams about how amazing it is and how everything else is shit...
Then he has a disagreement with one of the people who gave him something free and then its the worst garbage on the market and that the company kills babies. Then he bans them and bad mouths them .
The site can suck my fat daygo cauk
