Yes my opinion is based on experience. Steve Slayden ran an EB Modded TZ in a Ballistic Batteries extended Revo chassis in the truggy class this weekend and beat all of the BB LSPs, Kyoshos, etc. etc.
Here are the times http://www.johnnycoolguy.com/results/05_...A_Main.htm
I'm bummed my buddy Dan Gavere didn't do better with his LSP. I pitted for him but that thing just wouldn't stay running.
With one ounce of weight in the nose my Revo leaps like a gazelle. I was actually able to take the big air double more consistently than Slayden all weekend, I nailed it every time. He double singled it.

You should of asked slayden why he ran that RB S5 in his revo at the proline challenge.
So....have you ever owned a BB motor Bruce? you personally?

Slayden knows all about weighting a truck. The Pit Pass articles at Traxxas.com even show him weighing and counter-weighting his truck with lead material at the bumper. I would be shocked if he didn't set ballast in his trucks to match his driving style preference. After all, that's his job, right?

No Gabe, I've not owned a BB motor. And I didn't think to ask Slayden why he ran a RB motor at the other race but I did notice that he didn't run it a second time!!! I've seen that they are a bit easier to tune however.
I've also seen a BB powered Revo like you're thinking of running at the Nitrofarm race. He didn't do well at all. I'm not merely talking about how he finished, I'm talking about how he looked in practice. It wasn't pretty. I thought I was watching a Savage lumber around the track! Jump, Bounce, Roll!!! Over and over, time and again. Could've been his suspension, I don't know.
I'm noticing that most people are trying to justify their decisions, good or bad, on these forums and trying to convince others that they have the answer. I don't believe it and I don't profess to have the answers. I only try to state what I see. And I don't see BB Revos doing very well at any track. Let's face it, I was fortunate enough to see the best of the best at the premier Revo dominated MT event in the country. All of the major mfrs. were there in hopes of getting bragging rights for the magazines. What happened? The Monster GT's faired well. The Savage blew chunks. Revos dominated. That's it! And which Revos dominated? OS .18 TM/TZ small blocks dominated. Period!!! Not just the Stock class but the Truggy class also!!!! What argument is left? Why bother.....

Rocco has beaten Bruce in the past with his Savy if I'm not mistaken.
Bruce has been making me  with some comments recently also, I just try not to let it bother me. To each his own, everyone has their own opinion on everything, and they think they are always right.

I agree Tex, everyone thinks they're right lately. And you're also right in saying that Rocco has beaten me in the past. He's been a better racer than I've been for a long time. That's no secret. I'm just tryin' to catch up. I'm only startin' to do well cuz I've been practicing hard and I've got a better truck. Period. Technology is on my side.
Tex, I'm sorry if my stating the very obvious truth recently has not been setting well with you.
Here's a thought, if the weather holds out, why not vote that the DDs have another race at Dave's after 10/08 as the last. I'd love to race that Savage then...

Bruce its not that big of a deal ... We dont have to vote to have another race.... Im in NO WAY ducking you and your revo... I race good drivers with great race trucks all the time.... I can wait.. But hey if a bunch of guys wanna race ill there with my technologicly obsolete, slow, bounchy, non race worthy, tank supension truck... You know the one that beat the field at corys by like 4 LAPS and the one that won last week by TWO laps..
IM NOT BRAGGING!!! Im proud of what ive acomplished with my basher, heavy truck.
See ive been practicing my ass off too.... And like i said in a post in another thread, i hope that my luck holds out for one more club race, Because we all have good days at the track and we ALLLLLLL have bad days were nothing goes right no matter how prepared you think you are ... If my luck does hold out ill finish 2nd to Brian and his supermaxx... Not to shabby in my opinion...

Not shabby at all. You should be very proud indeed. Can we just get that next race at Dave's? Why should the club stop racing until the weather simply won't allow it IMO. After all, LH might not be ready for about 2 months from now as I understand it.

Is it too early to petition for a DD race at Dave's for Oct. 16th or 23rd?
