A head button?
What is that, and how much do they cost?
03-16-2007, 08:35 PM
It goes under the cooling head but above the rest of the motor. If he stripped that out, there's a (good) chance that some metal from it got into the engine.

nitrodude,
if you can figure out which screws you need (get on hpi's site and pull part numbers) I may be able to help you out a bit, but I can't just give you my entire stash of screws for my savage... also, if that engine ends up being toast, you may want to check out HPI's engine exchange program, sounds like it's about like the Traxxas deal..

I just got it and it needs almost every screw it has about 4 in it!!
So if you have enough screws for it lmk a price, send me a PM thanks

I wouldn't know where to start when going through my screws. You have a couple options though. You can order stock screws through Tower hobbies or something, or you can do what I did - order a complete set of steel machine thread screws. Mine are Hexscews hex head armor plated screws. Cost about 40 bucks, but are the toughest rust proof screws you can get. I do not recommend stainless screws because my old stainless r/c screws stripped out the heads and were a pain to remove when that happens.

if nothing else check if hpi makes a complete screw kit for it. post up some pics so we can see what you got

They make screw kits for it, just wanted to see if i could get the parts from here instead of a store and have it cost more.
I will post pics later today.

http://eshare.hpphoto.com/FilmStripHome....4a0&SKU=HP Im still looking for parts too...

I think the glow plug mount is the part that goes between the head and the block on the engine, your glow plug actually screws into it.
EDIT: I didn't read the 2nd page. Sorry about that.

Ya i know that now.
Thanks tho |
