YEP! Just lucky he didn't do any frame damage, and the air bags didn't go off! So all I need is the front slip, radiator, and support, and pass headlight.

Tell me he had insurance....because his insurance covers your vehicle.

"Good body shop" and "cheap" are rarely to be found in the same sentence.

mega tool. if you're gonna screw around at least know how to do it. and if you're gonna try it out without having a clue, find an open parking lot. these kids are the kinda people that make us (kids) look bad with cars...

A lady t-boned my minivan with less damage than that and it was just over 4 grand. That was the cheaper estimate too.

I doubt it because he doesn't have his own car!!!!!!! This is coming out of his pocket!!!
bubbacola Wrote:Looks like about 3500 to fix

Naw, did body work for a year and this actually isn't that bad. Like I said, pass fender, inner fender, radiator, core support, radiator overflow tank, condenser, fan shroud, fan, headlight/turn signals, bumper, bumper mounts, a hood, and paint. Few other misc things but all told it's not all that bad.

firesprink281 Wrote:in a parking lot? what a jag.
Yep, in the jewel parking lot at Boughton and Weber in Bolingbrook!

TowShen Wrote:holy crap! that sucks!
Your telling me!!!

I did get his side of the story though and I quote, "The accelerator stuck as I was trying to turn" B!LLSH!T!!!!! It's my truck I know everything about that thing! The pedal NEVER sticks down, and the throttle body was just cleaned a few weeks back. There is no way the throttle stuck at W.O.T. That and if you hit the brakes the truck is limited to 2500 rpm, not even enough to break the tires lose! So therefor if the truck did take off and he hit the brakes like he said the truck would have dropped itself down to 2500rpm and stopped! If this little bastard tries to play it off like it's my fault because the truck had a problem, I will hurt him!!!

The most F@cked up part of this is when I crashed my Neon(we all remember those pics), I had just payed it off! Well guess what I got in the mail last week, Yep your correct, THE TITLE!!!! Truck was just payed off! I will never finance another vehicle!!!

Heres a few better pics of it. And yes the fender was pulled out in these pics(I drove it home!!) the motor and drivetrain is still good!

I feel for ya, Man. But sadly, I think its going to be a case where the kid cannot pay up. No car, no insurance.....I would talk to your agent. This kid did not have permission to drive your car, so it may fall under the "uninsured/under insured" provision. Good luck.

Is the kid a minor? If so, go after his parents. Their insurance may cover it if he is.

If it isn't then put it on your sister. Sorry to say, but I'd do the same to my sisters. If they were in an accident with MY car because they let someone else drive it they would be paying for it. Mainly because I wouldn't have given permission for anyone other than my sister to drive it.

illinois state law requires every driver in a houshold to be insured. if he is not insured he is breaking the law and you can take him to small claims court for the damage.

Thats the thing, I lent it to MY SISTER! Straight A honor student, accepted to the air force academy, top of her class and she goes and does this! Just goes to show ya, you can teach people anything but common sense!!! Also found out today that the person that crashed the car was not the person my sister lent it to! So the guy she lent it to let someone else drive! I'm ready to kill 3 people! Confusedmash:
