I see the rc-monster mount is your friend.

Thats VERY similar to the setup I'm building for my LSP! I was looking at the 1515 motor too, though I couldn't decide which of them I wanted.

I'm actually in the middle of starting my first brushless project, with all of my 1:8th scale nitro's to follow with similar systems as I sell off the nitro stuff bit by bit.

Will be nice to bring ONLY a charger and batteries with me, no more start box, fuel, and nitro cleaner to clean up the residue.

Though I'll miss the nitro noise. Electric is wicked, I love its simplicity.

BTW, overall cost for a good nitro setup compared to a good brushless setup is about the same when you add in cost of fuel, glow plugs, and other misc stuff over a year compared to good lipo batteries.

Ponch, welcome to the world of electric. Speaking of that, out at Hardesty’s last race, I was running my T4 and it was pulling 8th scale buggies down the back stretch (as long as I didn’t break the read end lose, or wheelie off the second bump at the start of the straight).

This kind of makes me want to get an electric buggy or truggy (what can I say, I like racing electric cars) instead of a nitro one (although I would still get a nitro one first so I could actually race it almost anywhere)

I usually just bring a small plastic box w/ misc parts and tools, and extra tires.
The longest I've run this truck for is about 30 minutes in one day..
Our races are 5min right now, so if I peak before I head out, it'll run until racings over.

For me the hardest part about switching from nitro to electric with this size scale is the initial investment in a good charger that can deal with 4s and up lipo's. As well as making mounts for the electric motors. rc-monster has a few premade ones that will work for my stuff like the lsp and jammin buggies. And I think the jammin mounts will work on a hobao Hyper type car (buggy/truggy/one seven). Once i get that worked out I'll be well on my way.

Either the LSP or the Hyper One Seven will be the first to be converted.

You should attend the big squid drag race event in Calumet IL with your electric truggy.

We can have a battle, 528xr LSP vs brushless LSP. Though I think you'll get me by a large margin. We had the LSP radar clocked at 52mph steady last friday night. There was a run at 57mph but I think it was a glitch. I'm running 15t on the 528xr with the stock lsp spur.

You need the King Headz rear toe plate. Nice and durable. Actually, since you like to push it hard I recommend kings heads front to rear on it. And a BCE chassis. Smile

Looks like you wore out a set of tires that day.

Tex, I'm using GS 50k weight

thirdgen, which part am I looking for? the names of these parts are always confusing to me.
in the rear, I broke the brace in front of the diff (the aluminum one) in the past, and have replaced it w/ another aluminum one (stock on the pro-r).
I need the brace that is behind the diff.. so would that be..

Rear Toe-In Plate Set
?
The tires are hardly worn at all actually.. I have used Jammin' 1/8 buggy tires on it before, and those went bald in about 15 minutes though.

Dave, thanks. I've done 2am runs without any complaints Smile

Nick, you'll want the front kick up and rear toe plate (your choice on degree). Basically I put those on mine ( I left the stock purple 7075 caster plate on the rear of the front diff case). And broken stuff was a thing of the past for that. And once I did the kyosho topcad front end it was much stronger. It simply stopped breaking, ever. Didn't matter what I did to it, the only things i could break were body mounts, wings, and rims.

thirdgen, I've got this on the front of the front diff:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info...ts_id/2038

I already ordered two stock plastic rear toe plates, so I can run it up north on vacation (going up thursday, ordered sunday.. didn't come today..)
when I break those two, I'll look at the khz pieces.

rocco... what do I say.. this much power's addicting Wink

Yeah, some of the kyosho peices fit. Amain has a section just for the KHZ peices. http://www.amainhobbies.com/index.php?cP...lter_id=25

40 Minute Run Times? I actually really like that...most times I'd opt for Nitro, but that would be cool to run a half hour on the track without stopping for gas. LOL. Should enter it in the truggy class. It's got the pickup, if bernie will letyas do it. ^__^
