Drinking can effect your health. Depends on what kind of drunk person he is....plus ask all of those who have lost people to accidents.
I know, its a different type of risk. But still, drinking reaches out to effect others just like smoking does.

Depends on the type of drunk you are. Some are quiet, some are funny, some are straight up dicks. I have seen them all,as I am sure many others here have also.

OMF'nG, after five pages of BUllsh$t about Freedom and smokers against nonsmokers, all i can say is Good. All you smoking assholes can smoke your fags outside with the rats. I dont give a crap how much smokers get taxed and the so-called benefit us non-smokers get from it. Get real, your smoke destroys the restaurants equipment with the fag burns and the nasty smell. Maybe you guys will smarten up and quit and take better care of yourselves or you'll fight the power and smoke yourselves to death to prove a point. I can not wait to fine the crap out of a business that i catch having a smoker in there when this law takes effect. Call me a bitching pussy too on a soap box, I Agree with Mikey, so ban me too. Smoking sections are BS unless they are enclosed and sealed from everyone else that doesnt want to breath your crap soon enough it wont matter tho thank G.
Just so you guys know, I like and try to get along with everyone, wether you smoke or not, but if you smell like ass or a rotten cig or both i will let you know about it. Hell, thats what friends are for.
I dont smoke, but i have had my share of smoke inhaling from you inconsiderate fag smokers many a times. Thanks for the damage. Dress warm in those winter months when your outside freezing your arses off to feed your nasty addiction. I love this state.

I think in the near future, no matter the place is designed for smoking or non-smoking, that is aimed for the ENCLOSURED area...like the pit-area, A/C area @ Leisure hour, to be smoke free.
If ppl want to smoke...outside that pit room is permitted.
Overall, I don't like ppl smoke around me, cause I have to breath in their 2nd hand smoke. But if they smoke outside the restaurant/pit area...it is their business, and I don't mind that a bit.

This is not normally a type of thred I would reply to, but I remember back in about 1994, I was practicing indoors during the winter at RadioActive Raceways in Bolingbrook. Of course, there was smoking,as I was used to. But that day was a bit more than normal. My breathing became shallow. I had to leave. I couldn't figure how I could rely on going back all the time. So my winter practice was out. That was the last day I raced until startin again this year.

Tune I agree with danged near everything you have said. Oh by the way the are trying to already raise cig prices .90 a pack because of the lost revenue they are predicting. You are also right I seen the other day where the il goverment was talking about a state wide tax increase FOR EVERYONE because the lost revenue will be upwards in the millions. Boy am I glad I'll have to pay for that also. Thanks all you freakin tree huggers. Care to take away more rights? yea probably!

Damn right, nobody said you couldnt smoke. The big PIcture is your rights while trying to think about the non smokers rights in the process, namely you smokers that are inconsiderate to the guy that does all he can to not breath your crap. Its going to be a lot better for us non smokers, we have suffered too long for you jags!! Back in the 70s there was smoking allowed in the Malls and on airplanes, almost anywhere. Winter is coming, dress warm to have a drag from your masters smokey teet.

Some smoke for thought!
First let me say that I am a smoker. How ever when I am out in a public place like a restaurant will respect the feelings of others that don’t smoke. Hell even I don’t like to smell smoke while I am eating. IMO this whole thing about smoking bans is BS. Not because of the health issues but because of big brother. If I am a business owner and run a bar in which most of my clients smoke I should have the right to do that. When big brother steps in and tells me I can’t that is wrong. If there are people that drink and want to hang out in a bar but don’t smoke (which I am sure there are very few) then let some other business open a bar that does not allow smokers then all of the non smokers can go there. But let the business owner make that choice not big brother.
What are you guys going to say when big brother concludes that nitro smoke causes cancer and could also cause birth defects if you decide to have kids? Then bans indoor nitro racing! Ya you could go outside but then you might have spectators that like to watch that will bitch that they don’t like the nitro smoke because it is dangerous to there health and want you to change to racing electric only. You think I am kidding, by passing this smoking ban you are all just one step closer to things like this. You got to figure that while racing indoor nitro you breathe 100 times more smoke than you would ever breathe in a restaurant or bar and smoke from nitro no less.
What I am getting at here is you guys that think this ban is a good thing better watch your backs. Big brother will start small with things like this smoking ban but over time will start going after bigger & bigger things in the future and will slowly take away some of the freedoms that make up this great country!!
Also I would much rather go to a restaurant and breath some second hand smoke that MAY give me cancer sometime in the next 50 years than to go out to a movie one night with my family and have us all taken out in one night by a drunk driver. So why not ban alcohol while were at it? It will never happen!

I never used to goto bars or comedy clubs simply for the fact of the smoke, I dont think the owners believe in fresh air or AC for that matter... I said the other night im going to open a bar with a BIG ASS FAN...lol
any way, i personally dont think the ban will hurt places like bars and in fact may bring in more people... Im betting they are more non smokers these days than smokers....AND.... there are ALOT of people that smoke, but cant stand the smog level in a bar and dont go.
as far as restaurants... its not about rights so much but RESPECT. Does my NON Smoke air I breath out, hurt or discomfort the smokers?? I doubt it... So since you have a, by popular belief, disgusting Habit, take your happy ass OUT SIDE and or friggin keep it till AFTER your done eating and LEAVE.
