Panther Komodo LP's

Has anybody on here ever used them? I tried fitting them on a set of Proline Maxx dish wheels and the foams just don't seem to fit inside the tire well. Any trimming suggestions?

How are you getting Maxx wheels on a pede? Hex adapters?

Yea, the 14mm ones with the Wheely King comes with. I just have to drill out the centers to 5mm so they'll fit the Traxxas axles. I'll be using the standard offset Maxx dishes in the back and the 1/2" offsets on the front (and maybe get another set of 1/2" offsets fto try on all four corners). I've also bought a Rusty Desert Rat that will be slammed even more than the Crowd Pleazer 2.0 the truck was wearing today! I had to cut off about 1/4" of body from the bottom of the shell and open the area above the ESC. Then I'll have to find something to protect the wires since they stick up past the top of the shell.

I just finally got the drill bit that should work, the ones I already have were either way to big or just small enough not to work! Depending on how well these work out, I may try the spare RPM rear arms on the front of the trucks and install the 17mm adapters from New Era Models and HPI Black Dish Wheels on the same tires.

I'm finishing up the cell phone pics of it at the store and will send them to m e-mail before I leave, should be able to get some posted before the nights over! I even weighed most of the wheel/tire combos I've run on the truck or will run on the truck for the hell of it, I'll post those with the pics.

OK here's some pics and weights and a line up of the tires to start with!

First of is the tires my Pede came with 9 years ago, these puppies weight 6oz and are the heaviest!

Here's the current All Star on Talons the XL5 trucks wear, weighing in at 5.2oz

Now here's the original style Mashers on the first issue Agressors, those weighed in at 4.7oz

These are a set of old Mashers (actually older that the above ones!) that I mounted on 2.8 All Stars last year and are un taped, weighing in at 4.3oz

These are Geolandars mounted on 2.8" Twin SPokes, weighing in at a feathery 4.0oz!

Here's the Taped Talons on All Stars I've been running lately, those came in at 5.4oz.

Here's the Taped Talons mounted on the 2.8" Twin Spokes painted with a half dozen or so coats of Pactra Window Tint paint, they weigh 5.3oz

And Finally, here's the Panther Komodo LP's on 3.4" ProLine Maxx Dish wheels, I'm using the standard offset on the back and the shown 1/2" offset versions on front, these weigh in at 5.4oz!

Thanks Kev, had somebody ask me about what those were on RCCrawler tonight. Might be a VXL Rusty getting a set before long now too!

Believe it or not, I've had this truck for over 9 years now and I'd be willing it bet that it has to be getting close to 10 years old too!

Can't wait to give it a try, once I get the tires glued up and a day off.............. I do have to dig up and drill out another hex though, I screwed one up and the right front has a nasty wobble

Had somebody ask me what the width of the truck was with these wheels, with the XL5 wheels and tires the truck is 13" wide and with these it is 12.25" wide just like the Rustler. Most of the extra width comes from the bulging sidewall on the Talons and would also be lost if using most any aftermarket 2.2" tire for these trucks
