I don't know if this goes here or not..... This place has been so dead I don't know if it matters. Haha Time for something new so the GTI has to go.
'03 GTI 1.8T - - Loaded
56,xxx miles
5 speed Tiptronic Automatic
Leather heated seats
Premium sound
Power moon roof
Only Mods:
Revo Stage 1 Chip (I turned it off to save money when gas was almost $5 a gallon. I daily drove it chipped before then. It's fun but I do not own the controller to turn it on and off. I've just left it since.)
Forge Diverter Valve (I heard horror stories about the stock plastic bosch ones)
Carbonio Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake (Looks nice, sounds nice, does nothing for power.)
Smoked Side Markers (They are still yellow in the pics)
De-Badged (Removed 1.8T and GTI Emblems from hatch)
Tinted windows (Back 3 are limo tint, front 2 are lighter)
I currently have a 10" Adire Audio Brahma sub with a box that I built that I could include.
These pics are older but I can get more current ones if needed. Just ask. The car is in great shape and I love it. I've just had it for almost 5 years (original owner) and I want something new.
The car has been well maintained and is in great shape. I plan on having it professionally detailed before the final sale as well. Let me know if you're interested, know anyone who is, or have any questions.
NADA has it listed at $12,400
$11,000 OBO
Will entertain trades for a WRX or Volvo S60R. Might consider others but those are the two main cars that I am looking at right now.
Thanks
Dan

Haha. Thanks
I just want something new/different. I'm looking for something that I can tune but still have a practical and reliable daily driver. I figured a WRX would be nice. AWD, it can fit my bike rack, you can tune the shit out of it and still get good mileage.... etc. A Volvo S60R would stay a little closer to stock but could still be tuned. Same with a Saab or two that I am looking at....

Thank you. Pass the word around if you here of someone looking for a great car. It's the perfect daily driver. Pretty good on gas, lots of room, great interior, and in great shape. I can work on the price a little for a quick sale, but not much....

Tuneability. My car won't stay stock. I want the AWD and the ability to see over 350 WHP.

Haha. Well I guess that is why they are pretty cheap then. LoL I like it. I've always been a fan of hatch backs and wagons. It needs tinted windows.

My sister got her hands on a 3.5l V-6 Charger SE last week to replace her dying Cherokee. It's a sharp car and runs pretty strong, but I haven't had a chance to ride in or drive it yet. From the way it rode when he was in it, Dad thinks it might have the suspension like what the Hemi cars get:racing:

I'm not a fan of the charger really. IMO the new Hemi motor is a joke and nothing but a marketing ploy. One of my favorite affordable American cars right now is the CTS-V

The Hemi has been voted one of the worlds best engines by Ward, several years in a row from what I understand

Ward's Auto declares Ten Best Engines of 2009
Ward's Auto has released its annual list of Ten Best Engines for the new year, and our first assessment is that it's just as interesting for what isn't present as for what is. First of all, let's get the official list out of the way:
-Audi AG: 2.0L TFSI turbocharged DOHC I-4 (A4 Avant)
-BMW AG: 3.0L turbocharged DOHC I-6 (135i Coupe)
-BMW AG: 3.0L DOHC I-6 Turbodiesel (335d)
-Chrysler LLC: 5.7L Hemi OHV V-8 (Dodge Ram/Challenger R/T)
-Ford Motor Co.: 2.5L DOHC I-4 HEV (Escape Hybrid)
-General Motors Corp.: 3.6L DOHC V-6 (Cadillac CTS)
-Honda Motor Co. Ltd.: 3.5L SOHC V-6 (Accord Coupe)
-Hyundai Motor Co. Ltd.: 4.6L DOHC V-8 (Genesis)
-Toyota Motor Corp.: 3.5L DOHC V-6 (Lexus IS 350)
-Volkswagen AG: 2.0L SOHC I-4 Turbodiesel (Jetta TDI)
Take a good look. Nissan's ubiquitous VQ, which up to this point, was the only engine series that had made Ward's Ten Best ever since the list's inception in 1995, is conspicuously absent. That's a big deal. We also note a couple of turbodiesel engines, one in BMW's favored inline-six configuration and one that powers VW's Jetta TDI. Ford's updated 2.5L hybrid four cylinder is also recognized, rounding out this year's trio of green powerplants. We also note that there's only one American V8 engine, the redesigned HEMI from Chrysler. More snubs? How'd they miss the amazing powerplants that sit under the hoods of the Corvette ZR1 and the Nissan GT-R? Update: Thanks goes to our commentators, who point out that the ZR1 and GT-R are too expensive to make the list.

Affordable? Aren't you a college student still?
I have a good job and I still don't consider the Caddy affordable! And when gas goes back up to $4.50 a gallon, paying to feed those 555 horses will SUCK!
But I do like the car, too! I just need to win the lotto first.

Hey bro if u like the saab go for it but IMO (not that it matters) if you need AWD id go mitsu evo... They are by far more tunable and from what ive been reading the trans is a SERIOUS question mark in the wrx/saab.

I didn't necessarily mean for me. I was just comparing it to the likes of the Corvette, Viper, GT500, etc. I think the CTS-V gives you a LOT of car for the money. I actually had a guy want to trade me his '05 6 speed for my GTI with $9k on my end. It wasn't a bad deal, I just don't really have the extra cash.

I am really thinking that the Saab is the way to go. I would love an Evo actually but they are still up in the $18k range for an Evo VIII. They react to tuning a little better but now that open source tuning has taken off for Subarus there isn't much of a difference.
And yes.... the trans is a SERIOUS weak point. I have heard of them letting go mid pull before. The plus side is that a nice gear set is under $1,500 and it makes it nearly bombproof. If I can pick up a low miles, near stock Saab for $10-11k that leaves me about $8k before I would get to the price of an Evo VIII. That is easily the gear upgrade, clutch upgrade, bigger turbo, and supporting mods. The Saab would then destroy an Evo and still have more creature comforts.
Heck you can find Saabs that are a Stage II for ~$12k. Then all that you need is a clutch, gear set, injectors, and a turbo for the most part.
I don't know. I dig it. I like cars that are different too. I know you don't see these every day.
