UE-Maxx Wrote:Its going to be freezing this Saturday. Its only supposed to be like in the 40's or 50's.
I still plan on coming, but I am going to be dropped off and all of my stuff is just going to be in the open. Is it going to be ok for it to get cold(fuel, batteries, engine is going to be hard to start)
I'll bring a torch!!!!
Seriously, I thought I saw 60's for Sat. Don't know. Just so it's not raining.
Engines will be hard to start. Just keep running once you get it going! That's where starter boxes kick butt over pullstarts.

il be bringing my little heater again for those that have seen it at the race. It will heat up your engines good enough so they can start. Also keeps your hands toasty warm to if your not driving.

I've got a Heat gun, and a small power inverter (If I can find the inverter).
As for the fuel, it is actually better to store fuel cold.

Hopefully I'll remember to bring an old hair drier. My TM doesn't like to start easy when it's like 45 outside, lol.

Ugh I got a pullstart. But I usually get it started pretty quick. The only problem I run into is my engine has to be drained of ARO before it will start for some reason. I am thinking of switching to Marvel Mystery oil as my ARO. I'm thinkin it has a better ignition point.

Get it started at home using the hairdryer. Then don't use ARO and head to the bash. Should be easier to start then.

Anyone have a generator? I see that some of you are going to bring your inverters. Too bad we can't bring our vehicles back there, at least one for juice to power inverters.

Ok I'll give that a shot, I am gonna pick up some more glow plugs. You guys think a full gallon of fuel is enough to get through the bash?

Keep in mind, ARO is just OIL. There is no fuel content, therefore, it must be taken out in order to start the engine. There should only be a couple drops in the engine, so just priming the engine SHOULD push out the oil, and bring fuel to the engine. If your engine Hydro-locks from the ARO, you are using too much. Just put 2-3 drops in the glow plug hole, turn the engine over a couple times to circulate the oil, then replace the plug.

Just kidding!
I'm bringing a gallon but I suspect I'll only get through a few tanks by the time I get to meeting and talking to all the fine folks that will be there!
And once the beer flows, the fuel slows.
