Does anyone else have all the local hobby shop phone numbers saved in their cell phonebook or am I the only one? lol
I found it to be very handy when I'm out and about and need to see if a LHS has something in stock so I can stop by and pick it up.
something to ponder anyway..... :wavey:

I have LH and Hobbytown (Aurora) in my phone. Because they're far, I call before heading out to make sure parts are in stock.
Al's is so close, I just go without calling .

Al's 630-832-4941
Leisure Hours 815-439-1477 (for RC cars..x203/204)
I don't know STC HT's number. I'm not usually in that area and I've only been there once in my life.

I also had LH the track number inmy phone, but I have deleted it until they get a new number then it will be readded... You just never know and since my phone holds 500 numbers and I only have 2 friends, I have alot of room for hobby shop numbers.

Even if I didn't already work at HTU StC and Aurora, I'd probably still have them in mine. The two local Model shops are so close that I would just drive over and look.

Too bad about stantons, I used to buy my rockets there. Hey Max I saw you out at DeVry the other weekend when you sent me the PM, I had to run errands and my truck is busted and I'm waiting on parts to arrive. But I took a drive by and saw you out there, looked like you where trying to get your truck started.
I got the numbers of the inner city LHS's, heres the link, look at post #22.

I did mention this on another thread but would it not be a good idea to make a sticky post of all the LHS around with contact and locations?
At the same time make it a poll on who favors which one more?
In the right place of course.
Another thought----Can some of these places sponsor this board and give out a member card for discounts? Make it a yearly membership of like $10-$15 and have meetings kinda thing. I am sure you want to see this place really take off for the locals here and have it grow right?

it has taken off and grown already without needing administrators, treasures, president, VP, and other people needed to run a formal club.
We are a non formal, un-official club called "chicago style RC" or "CSRC" for short. It's free to join and we are here to set up free events and offer free advice/help.
If you would like to join an official club and get hobbyshop discounts and such, CSRC is affiliated with the DitDawgs clug which offers all the benefits you are looking for. I am a member of that club also. You can find info about them at DirtDawgsRC.com

Kewl.
I was not aware and thanks for the heads up on that link.
Then we do not need another place like that then---it becomes competative that way.
Still a list would be nice---I know of Hobby toen and AL's and that is it.
This way some newbies to the board know where to find shops to this hobby.
Thanks again
