Where is the link to the Spektrum system for $209 (looking)?
Anyway, with track rules, I never saw it happen but when Tinley was running, if you were caught with clips in the pits or turning your radio on when people were running they banned you from the track.
01-04-2006, 08:21 AM
Well I am still looking for that price for 209 but I will call today.
Best I could find was that ebay link I post on a page back

Tinley didn"t use clips. they had tags you hang on a broad on your freq number..... it didn't work any better. could you see 97 people, open practice for eight hours at any track without some problems. People complain people don't return the clips. mostly on 27. we had 34 people using 6 freq. newie mostly. when I chased a clip down it already had someone in line to use it nexts. I have some rules i have been working on to make a better practice night. One will be No fuel bottles in the track. run a tank, marshall for a tank. Rc and marshalling is like bread and butter. they go together you can't run a rc without having to marshall it once. If you want marshalls for your practice you"ll have to marshall for someone elses.
01-04-2006, 08:49 AM
I could live with that and it is very fair for all
Actually I don't mind marshalling after I was all done and set up for an extra round if needed. What comes around goes around Treat others as you would like to be treated. How quickly we can forget these two when there is a lot of hype and chaos.

Bernie,
If there were a :clapping: icon I would use it here. Even my 13 year old son noticed that pitmen would wave in their driver, fuel and temp him, and send right back out. No "one tank and out" for them. No fuel on the track is good thought! He also noticed the private pitman marshall situation.... We look forward to the restoration of order and peace among RC brothers!!!
01-04-2006, 09:15 AM
Ahh, I stand corrected, we did have just the tags at Tinley. I know they would announce over the loud speaker continually that anyone caught with their radio on during a run or not returning their clip would be banned.
I guess I'll have to spend the $250. It will be worth it not to worry about what frequency your on.

I wish someone could put together a group wholesale purchase on Spektrum systems and get them down to where I could afford one....
01-04-2006, 09:53 AM
Guys, do yourself a favor and CALL Ultimate hobbies @ 714-921-0424. They will confirm the DX3 for only $209.99 w/2 recievers. Again, there is no sales tax and free shipping on orders over $50.00 so IMO that deal can't be beat.
01-04-2006, 09:59 AM
B5, that is a good deal. My problem is I need 2 of everything!!! Darn kids!!
01-04-2006, 10:16 AM
$420.00 for 2 DX3's and 4 recievers...LOL.
01-04-2006, 10:26 AM
Yeah...thanks for adding that up for me......
01-04-2006, 12:04 PM
I still pay for what gets broken.... we will have 2 JR xs3's after today, and hope that we can find open freq's when we need them. Worst case, if we are waiting too long for a clip, we swich some dials and run.
01-04-2006, 12:47 PM
@ 209 with 2 recievers.... it almost worth buying it.... keeping 1 rec.... then sell the dx3 system after the 209+2 stops.
01-04-2006, 12:52 PM
Yeah, I'm going to see what my paycheck looks like Friday. I started a new job not long ago making a ton more money so they hobby has been much easier.
Plus tax time cometh!
01-04-2006, 01:10 PM
I think the Spektrum recievers are $75-80.00 alone. Now figure you get 2, the radio and 2 JR servos. Now on the other hand, I can't stop thinking is there something new about to come out where JR/Horizon are trying to deplete thier stock of Spektrum recievers??? Hmmm.
01-04-2006, 02:26 PM
well I put in my order a few Min ago and it was free ground shipping and no tax
so I also picked up another steering servo Guess I won't see this until next week some time and if I make it out there Sunday I will have to manage Oh and the RX are $69.95 for additional ones. This is by far the best price I ever seen on this.

Yeah I called them back and added a 3rd Rx
It is worth it to save some bucks. I figure I saved over $150 with the 2nd Rx deal and getting a third one for $10 cheaper and free shipping.
