I agree. Let see what he does. Its not like Bern to make a easy track or to make a track easyer. Id bet somethings up his sleeves.

I think a big jump would be a lot of fun. I remember at the old track though a lot of people would just roll over it because it was either faster or they were afraid of breaking... So I can see it as a good and bad thing...
I was telling Matt last night that I thought he should gut out these table tops and make them doubles. Just a little something to make sure you dont run over the tops.

I would be up for that... they are easy enough to clear. The only time I roll them is if I am avoiding a crash between the two and don't have enough speed to try the second. Then I roll it. I was seeing a lot of either buggies or truggies (can't remember, maybe both) scooting across the top rather than jumping them...
I only have one reason to not like a huge jump; marshall safety. At the old leisure track, when they had THE big jump, I was standing in the track pits under the drivers stand and got nailed in the thigh by a guy with an smaxx....with a .26. Lets just say I was limping around for the next week and went to the chiropractor two times in the week, instead of the normal once a month. So I really, really wouldn't like a big juump unless it's on the back straight. Woah! Just thought of something; bernie should make a huge wallride part on the back straight so that you can fly into the turn at the end lol...

A bermed wallride would be ind of cool but I don't see enough room for it to be done right at an indoor track. They need to be pretty long to make them drivable...
why do u have to go see the chiropracter once a month??

and somehow a wall ride seems like a bad idea. i could see many cars flying off.

Yeah... wallrides are one of those "fun in theory" types of things. I think I saw one in an outdoor track picture once. Can't remember... They need a lot of room though.
The problem with a berm is that most tracks build them and they just take up space, u have to make it so it is absolutely necessary to hit the berm to make the jump other wise its dum. alot of outdoor tracks have used the berm/banked turn thing and its useless. If nayone could do it bernie could lol

ok i got my motor and got it flushed out, reoiled the crankshaft and all the goodies inside. Got my os carb on there and clutch assembly so right now im just waiting for the carb seal to dry before i break it in. Break in is going to majorly suck. Its got so much pinch i cant turn it over by hand with the flywheel.

LoL... have fun with that man. I am actually surprised how much pinch my motor still has. I think I have about 2 gallons into it now and I can barely turn it over...
i got 5 gal in a pinched rb and i cant turn it over while in the car.

heat it up to 200 before starting!
ok got a half a tank through it. Peice of crap traxxas equipment. Gave me a fresh damn motor with a burned out glow plug stock. I thought i was a freaking retard trying to start this motor. Oiled to hell, running so rich it wont idle. Put in one of my trusty mccoy 59 plugs and instantly fired up. Temps started out at 213 but as it got to the half way mark in the tank temps kept dropping and ended up at 150 untill i shut it down. Cooling head wrapped in foil and all. Whats up with that. Anyways os carb is working miracles. I can already see an improved idle vs my previous 2.5. Wont notice any power untill sunday when i will be able to let on the gas some. So far so good. Its a mutha trying to get those temps up tho
[Image: mich1iy1.jpg]
I hear ya. I had to lean out the 4.6 motor I was breaking in like crazy just to get it to 200*. With the factory settings it would barely break 110*. LOL, it was so rich that you could easily see the fuel almost pouring out of the muffler.
i have no needle settings for the os carb on the 2.5. I just richened it up 2 turns and started it. I think it takes about 15 seconds for pinching the fuel line to cut out the engine. high end is majorly rich. Looks like an old pick up truck burning oil goign down the road. Thats ok tho plenty of lube and the starting temps are above 200 so its all good. Just cut the run times down to half a tank now.
lean it out man... 150 not good for a new motor...
i did by a half a turn
[Image: mich1iy1.jpg]
it stayed just over 200 untill the last minute the temp just dropped to 150 all the sudden and i shut it down.

go in a full turn u want it like at 220 or so and just heat cycle it. That will give u the most life out of the motor

will do. Still want to keep it blubberly rich tho
[Image: mich1iy1.jpg]
u'll only hurt it by being that rich, a rich motor through breakin will only put more wear on the rod, and P/S

just had to do 2 turns to make it get above 200. Started out 210 for about 2 minutes then crept to 180 so i leaned it a turn and it got back to 210ish
[Image: mich1iy1.jpg]
What break-in method are you using?? The traxxas one or the traditional heat cycle?? Has anyone seen a wear difference using either method on the 2.5?? I know I broke mine in the traxxas way for the first time and havve so far had great results...
i have no idea which one im doing. I started doing the heat cycle but then my temps dropped to much so i went to the traxxas one to tune it a little to get my temps back up. Now im just doing the heat cycle. Ran it no more then 5 minutes at a time. Im just gonna finish it out the heat cycle way unless my temps keep dropping lol.

LoL... the hybrid break in. I guess we will know in a few months how well it works. Anywho... GL. I wish I was breaking in a new motor right now... that would mean I have money... LoL
