Congrats on the Revo John...

By chance, do you have an extra set of Savage Fuel tank mounts?

That brand new Revo body sure is pretty, I'll give you $10 for it right now. You know you're going to be swapping it out for a Crowd Pleaser, right?
Think about it!!!

And you will have a ton of brand new radio system and steering servo parts to sell also, right?

Aren't we crazy? We drop $400+ on something brand new and immediately start to take perfectly good parts off and modify it. Why doesn't Traxxas or HPI or somebody save us the trouble and build the Race vesion with the right radio gear, servos, etc? I'm sure it would sell.

Revo's very cool, indeed. The very first thing I did to ours was Dremel a notch in the side of the carry handle so you can actually get a screwdriver on the LSN to tune it.

Then I rerouted and guarded the wiring to the EZStart and glow plug blue wire. If you keep the stock body, add strips of heavy clear tape inside at all the places where it rubs, because the factory graphics wear through in no time.

The BEST thing I did (and it was free) was to extend the exhaust stinger with a length of tubing to get it down past the body. That stock one makes an oily mess of the rear of the truck.

Congrats on the new purchase!!

Why do they think it's the Dark Side?

I'm for all factory engineered goodness. If you don't have to reinvent the wheel to have a better product, why not use it? Revo has trick stuff built in.

Rocco is a HPI guy, so anything other than HPI for monster trucks is the enemy. Kinda like the Ford & Chevy followings.

Bigdangerous said the same thing, so I'll gues he's anti-Traxxas (pro-someone else) as well.

I can understand. Brand loyalty is what keeps my family fed. Loyal customers are cool.

I have R/C cars from a few different companys and they are all cool. I say if you like something and you think you'll be happy then get it. As far as the whole dark side thing, I may have done one better by going from a Savage to a Revo to getting a TNX Pro. I guess that makes me Darth Vader. Big Grin

sounds like they are just against TRX. I can see why, traxxas' product is geared for the newbie basher. EZ start? come on......

Traxxas, tamiya, AE, Losi ect.... Im against all of them!!! I have savageitis!! Its a diease that makes me spend thousands turning a basher into a great club racer and a mediocer (if that) big event racer.
My one buddy has the Monster GT and i talk just as much $hit to him!

I was happy to see at the pro series the revo's gettin it handed to them by lst's and Mgt's! I guess im sick and tired of the hype and car action shoving the revo down my throat!!!

I'll have to say, the revo is light years ahead of the savage in racing technology. I tried my damnest to get the savage moving good around a track, and all I suffered was problems and breakage. I hope I can now put that behind me with the revo. I have no brand loyalty. I buy what I like. Right now, I really like the revo!

Next I race against you rocco, lol, you'll wish you have a revo too! :p

Well, enough posting for now. It's time for me to head out and breakin in this badboy!

If Big&Dangerous called the Revo the "Darkside", it may just be because he is the one who sold the Savage to Mr.Tune in the first place.... I have never owned a Revo, but I have driven one. It takes a little getting used to, especially once you are used to a different MT. I will definately miss my LST, but I won't miss having to replace parts all the time, and not being able to finish a race. If I had the money to get Titanium turnbuckles, and aluminum spindles/carriers, I would have kept it. I went back to the Savage, because of the durability. I am not very competitive with the MT's anyway, I'll stick to racing the Buggy, and Bashing the Savage....

(Mickowski and rich need not take offense to the revo bashing cuz i know there both better drivers and have well set up machines... And well ... will kill me in a race, if they dont break Wink )

so now your calling mr tune a horrible driver? Man next time we race im taking you straight into the wall at the end of the straight. You youngins need to learn when to shut up and drive lol. rocco moves up to the top spot on my hack list and newguy now falls into second because i dont have to fix my t-maxx anymore LMAO.

rocco get me a savage to use for a race and we will race savage on savage and see what happens. Im not traxxas loyal i just get what i like. So far i like most of the traxxas stuff and the other mt brands im not that much into. I dont want a big truck with tires twice the size of 40 series and i dont want a basher truck thats a pain to work on. So far the revo fits all my needs and rarely gives me problems unless i have a brainfart and forget how to do something.
