Crowd plzer on a 3.3 chassis?
#1
I was wondering if the Crowd Pleazer works with the extened revo, do they make a 3.3 body for it, or do you just have to drill different holes? How does it look on there.

P.S. This is for a friend.

The crowd pleazer won't work good with an extended chassis. Due to the shape of the hood (middle section is raised up), they incoporated flat spots and indents so the body posts line up correctly. Works great with stock length, looks like crap with an extended chassis.

I ran it all rigged up for a few weeks and then picked up a jconcepts body. It has similar issues, but I only needed to modify the body posts a little in the front and had to cross drill the rear because they shaped the body in a way that putting the clips on in the back is tough if you have a low mounted wing.

For the cleanest look, I'd prolly use the traxxas body. They make an extended version so it fits the new chassis properly.

J concepts is supossed to be comming out with an extended illusion body in the next few weeks. Heard this on another forum.

BTW. Crowdpleazer doesn't work well. don't even bother on the extended. The standard jconcepts illusion body works with some rigging, but the one the I found that works like a charm is the Parma Exciter body for the HPI Savage. Its longer than the revo version of the exciter and fits great. You can't follow the lines for the cutouts, but putting holes in on your own should be no problem. I was at the hoby shop comparing bodies and ran across it, it looked like it would work so I bought it and tryed it out. Worked out good so far.

I cut it out for fitting. Haven't painted it yet though.

The other body that also fits good is the Caddilac Escalade extended body. Fits like a glove. But I personally don't like the look of the body. The revo is supposed to be a racer, not a lux truck....

Would a CP bod for a truggy (like CRT) work? Or will it be too wide?
