I out drift all. (Front wheel drive cars.) ;-) I will probably see the movie but knowing how some of my friends handle their cars in slides (like handle them into curbs) I don't think I would want to be drifting in a lot with any random people....

Funny story, after the movie at Northbrook Court, some kid wrapped his dads corvette around a pole, I legit LOL'd. You should see all the tire marks around the theater, its rediculous!

tttm- i was gonna go to the one at northbrook court but then all of a sudden we had some family crap. so now im stuck in north carolina. do u know where the kid that trashed the corvette was from? i know a few kids with corvette that might be stupid enough to do that. i really wanna see the movie but i havent yet. but is it worth seeing? or is it better just to wait and rent/buy it?

PS did you know tht you can powerslide/drift a golf cart is you wait till the guy waters the fairway?? i didnt either until i tested it out. (dont hate me cuz im 15 and can drift a golf cart like no other)

I saw it first hour it came out. It was pretty cool. I hope vin deisel makes a bigger appearance if they make another. It was cool to see how the american racers and japanese sort of our all in this together.

That movie sucked!!! I saw it last night, and almost cried when they put the P.O.S. 4 cyl in the Mustang!!!! I respect japanese power but come on! That is a discrace to a beautiful car!

Other than that the movie was pretty cool, all the drifting was great. Speaking of which did anyone else go to the drifting event at soldier field last week?

I am not going to tell you how, but that thing can definitely be drifted. I was drifting a TT around for a while and it was AWD as well. They are actually easier to control than FWD or RWD. I used to drift the GTI on the stock tires, but these are a bit pricy to play like that. They do give on heck of a launch though. I have to say that one of the most fun cars I have drifted so far was my buddy's supercharged v-6 cougar. Tons of torque and RWD.

Anyway..... movie was cool. I think it was a bit too much of a cliff hanger at the end though.

Those things are a blast to drift with! Like freeride said it's actually easier once you learn how to break it lose! Basically the way I would do it is you turn the wheel the opposite direction first and then cut it back pretty hard. Now of course I'm not sharing all, because there are to many kids that will try it, get hurt, blame me for the info!

I was drifting back in 1990 with my fwd Plymoth K-car! Just find an empty parking lot in the winter after an inch of snow. LOL! I guess it really took off after that! You can all thank me now.

The K-Cars I had were suprisingly savable when they'd get a little sideways, especially my Lebaron GTS hatchback.

Speaking of drift cars, Thunder's little brother found this car yesterday

Looks suprisingly factory considering he's got a RB25DET swapped in it!

Tommy..... by just telling him the steering part, and not the "footwork" of it, you are just going to have him crash into the outside of the turn when he panics, hits the brakes, and pushes right throug the turn. LoL

I left that out for a reason!!!!

I would feel bad for about 10 seconds! I didn't teach them anything, if they wanna take about 2% of what they need to know to drift and try and do it. They are the idiots! I learned from trial and error(about 10 rims and 2 control arms later) I finally got it down to where i wouldn't hit the curbs. I hold no resposibility for other peoples Darwin Award attempts!!!!

LMFAO!!! I was being too nice. Tommy said what I was thinking. Except I was smart enough to learn in big empty lots and have yet (knocks on wood) to hit a curb. Big Grin

Meh i actually learned around turns! They were steelies so the rims didn't matter to me, it was doing the control arms that sucked! And the $100 alignment afterwards.

I won't see it. I watched a drifting race on SpeedTV. It bored me to tears, unbelievable how utterly senseless drifting is. I'm a huge Motorsport fan, but there are two types of racing I can't stand: NASCAR and Drifting! Motorcycle Racing is the best and most exciting racing of all. 125CC Shifter Kart racing is exciting too.

You're right..... the best throttle, steering, and overall car control seen doesn't excite me at all either. Rolleyes It's great to watch on TV but Soooooo much better in person.

Dear Drifters,

Let me preface my message to you with a bit of information:

According to the Department of Justice guideline (to police) for dealing with street racing, helping to create legal racing programs is the 9th most effective way of dealing with the problem! That means there are 8 unpleasant ways that they will likely choose to deal with street drifting before helping to give us more legal events. Illegal street drifting can also have a negative impact on the few legal events we have available to us now.

I love drifting, and I know many of you do too. With the release of Fast and the Furious 3 upon us, it is time for drifters to do their part to protect the sport we love. So, how can you help? By educating the public.

*First, post this information on any car forum, myspace group or online car community that you visit.

*Second, link everyone you know that you think might see the movie to http://www.driftsafe.org

*Third, visit the 'Promote' section of http://www.driftsafe.org where you can find flyers (made by club4AG members) that you can print out and hand out at the movie.

*Fourth, contribute your thoughts, concerns, solutions and artwork to help us improve http://www.driftsafe.org

Thank you for reading and I hope that if you love drifting, you will help in some way.

Drift Safe aims to educate the fans, public and would be drifters about the Consequences of illegal drifting, including; the effect of illegal drifting has on the sport of drifting, consequences for individuals who participate in illegal drifting, the realities of drifting and the laws pertaining to illegal drifting.

Drift Safe is also a resource for those interested in becoming involved in legal drifting (as a fan or driver) and those already involved in drifting. We provide information on how to get involved with legal local events (for drifters and fans) and how to attend sanctioned professional events (for fans).

a guy on a diff message board posted this and i (thenewguy jr) thought i'd pass it down the line to keep drifting as safe as possible
I'll keep my God, my freedom, my guns, and my money. You can keep "THE CHANGE."
