well im not going to call them cause ill be patient.
well if they call me them that means they arent gonig to fix it for free.....but if they just ship it to me then they prolly just fixed it for me for free or they gave me a deal
Ahh that's why the number wouldn't work for me...
DOn't worry about being patient dude..If you call them and "remind them" they should get to your stuff quicker than somebody who just sits there.

Did I call who? I called traxxas when I had my engine sent in, and it helped...
But yeah I accidentally called the other chat # right now and that's how I knew it didn't work lol... I used my cell phone though, so if they call back I'll laugh.

ok well i just got my 3.3 motor back from traxxas today and guess what??? they replaced everything for FREE.
when i say everything I mean then gave me a new p/s, new back plate, new crankase, and a new starter shaft, and of course a glow plug.
so i was like wow......and of course new internal bearings.
they said to go back and break it in and they said while breaking iin the motor dont let it idle......WTF how can i not let it idle? i guess they mean dont let it idle for a long time.

Not for me they don't... I sent mine in, and some of you even saw what had happened with my case, with the rollover breakage. I had to pay $105 for a new one, which I sold for $145. I bought a new case and bearings ($65) so I was out about $25 in the end.

ok i got finished with the break in 2 hours ago and I took the head off to look at the piston and its still very silver with a "C" brown spot....which i know is normal....but the "C" is very faint and i wanted to know if thats normal for a motor with 5 tnaks......just kinda paraniod due to low money and no job.
I broke the motor in super rich......lots and lots of smoke...i pu a sock on the haed and temps were allways 205-240..........i got it to 297-301 once and shut it off imeadiatly so i think i did it good.....and the piston is still hard to turn over by hand and still gets stuck at TDC and I have to use a flat head too turn it.
so does this all sound like it went pretty good?

you are going oto find out that the 3.3 on the tmaxx is goingto run pretty hot. I just bought mine about a month ago, and i run it around 310-340 degrees all the time. If i dont then it wont run to its fuill potential. And no, i dont have any leaks either, trust me. I have searched for hours looking for one. I called a guy at traxxas, and he said he rund his around the same temps. And if you are raeding 290 and not even beating on it very hard, and you are gonan keep turning it off at thouse temps, you are never gonna have any fun wiht it. Just make sure the head dont smoke to much, and run the shit out of it. late

well the problem with running it at 310-340 your motor wont last as long......my 3.3 flys at 280......so im good with that. but you dont want to get up to 300 during break in.

if your head is smoking, it's too hot.

I know little about traxxas stuff.... I do have a Novarossi 528 3 port that will not run below 260... In the r/c world this engine is known to run in the 270-285 range all day...
.... But i would think that 310- 340 degrees as a common running temp would cause the sleeve to wear out mighty quick...
I know that my engine hit 340 twice at rd. 1 of the pro series and i could notice a huge differnce in pinch after that...
But like i said, traxxas engines arent my "fortay" ... Just my .02

My 3.3 ran awesome at like 230. I think anything above 290 is too much for that motor IMO. The true test of an overheating motor is the spit test. Put a drop of water on the head. If it sizzles of almost instantaniously, the motor is too hot!

Dropped one tooth on my CB today and my 528 dropped about 20-25 degrees... And it was HOT out today!
Maybe you need to ajust your gearing???

What were you running roc? A 14 tooth? I did the same thing and JCP last weekend and saw a noticable temp drop (Put in a 13 tooth in place of a 14 tooth).

Tune-
I was running a 15t to settle the low end on the motor... But i went down to a 14t ... Still had nice high end!
I think i need to switch to 1.1 ttr springs.... I bet that would drop the temps lower too... Then i could prolly lean the fuel hog alittle! LOL!
