That mostly depends on what you are looking for, usually ebay has the best deals, I always look at CrispyCrittershobbyshop.com or Amainhobbies.com for alot of my stuff

Personally I'd order from Towers only because I believe they would honor their guarantee.

Amainhobbies and Crispycritters are both great shops Also I'd look into AceHardwarehobbies.com. What kind of engine are you looking for? For what kind of car?

Man, isn't anyone going to plug Leisure Hours? Shouldn't we support the local guy who's building the newest tracks in the area? Even if you pay a few bucks extra at the hobby shop, isn't that helping him stay in the business?
It's like tipping a few extra % in a diner. I know those extra $2 are going to mean alot more to that hard working man or woman than they do to me. If Bernie's ever done a even a small favor or freebie for you, he deserves your business. Ask him for his best deal. If he can't do it for what your budget allows, at least you tried to get him the business. My $.02.

I would check out Leisure Hours also, they had an engine deal going on last time I was there. Motors were going pretty cheap!
Call them and ask them if they have any of the motors you want, see what kinda deal they can do. They might be able to ship it to you??? Here is Leisure Hours' number (815)439-1477

Maybe when Leisure has an on site hobby shop at the track I'll buy there. As it is, they could never get anything to the track for me with 4 days notice.
I've had no luck with their customer service and, just like Al's, they've never taught me a thing or gone very far out of their way to help me solve a problem. Frankly, when I shop Al's I feel as if I get worse service BECAUSE I'm a regular! I support the "idea" of supporting the LHS but until they go the extra mile FOR ME regarding customer service I'll shop on-line. I get AMAZING customer service from http://www.rushrc.com Hell, I'm even staying at the guys house when I go to the Monster Truck nationals in Dallas! How's that for customer service!!! (BTW, I bought my TZ, new rotary carb, my fuel, paint, and Spektrum at Al's) satoch Wrote:Maybe when Leisure has an on site hobby shop at the track I'll buy there. I'll go to the leisure hours track though.

IMO Hobby Town sucks, unless you have a Traxxas or HPI vehicle.
Every time Ive ever been there, thats about all they have. Every time Ive gone there looking for parts, or even fuel, diff oil, shock oil, servos, they never have what I want Leisure Hours on the other hand, has had what I needed 99% of the time Ive been in there, with the exception of LSP parts, which is due to me and my bro buying them out and Hot Bodies not shipping parts. I did get my LSP from Leisure though, and I'll go there before Hobby Town any time, even though Leisure is 15 min further away from my house.

Eracer76 Wrote:IMO Hobby Town sucks, unless you have a Traxxas or HPI vehicle. Well, I have a traxxas :p: Hobby town so far has had everything I went there for. On the other hand, I call up Leisure Hours, they tell me they have something I want, then when I get there, they suddenly don't. I was at hobby town yesterday and they got a few gallons of trinity platinum 30% in, just in time too, I need to pick some up in a few days .
