Yep, Oh snap! That was me, first one to break something plastic. Broke an A-arm. Went to als, bought a whole set front, rear, upper lower.

Car ran great though once warmed up. VERY quick. Smile OS30vg + buggy = not fast enough for me. :joy: I want faster!

Now I guess I need to send this thing it for porting.Confusedalute:

60mph+ is not fast enough! Cops clocked it at 53mph in what is basically the scale 1/4 mile, I want 70mph or so out of it, close, but that extra 10 will cost alot. Full porting on the OS 30vg I imagine to get that out of it.

Oh yeah just want to add this to the post. The week of the Hobby Expo (oct 21-22) we won't be at the bash, but instead at the Expo. Smile Though if you aren't at the Expo i hope people still come out to the bash. Great fun to be had.

Jammin 1, Tree Nottin! Man I did I hit the tree hard! Hit so hard the branch the buggy landed on threw the car back at me. Like something out of a cartoon!

After that I got the tree killer syndrome out of my system and didn't feel the need to obsessively hit the ramp so hard each time.

Hitting a 18" wide ramp at 40mph+ when with a 6" curb on each side of the ramp REALLY makes you aim for dead center.

Missed the ramp once, caught about 1/4 of the chassis on the side of the ramp, just enough to avoid the curb and it tossed me HARD, rolled, spun, flipped, and eventually cartwheeled my way right into the tree trunk. Buggy hit with a resounding THUNK. Broke the shock end-cap and nothing else. Thought I did some serious damage but lucky.

Saw Tims new Violator/MBX hybrid for about 3 minutes as the bump box died and he wasn't able to start the buggy back up to finish break-in.

Oh yeah, and I got a Revo w/18tm. Smile But I'm gonna sell it to add another Truggy to my collection. I have a bump box coming soon as everything I own is based on a 1/8th scale buggy so the same bump box will work for them. They are all Jammin's pretty much.

OS go ZOOM! Damn did I hit the ramp hard! The tree branch we normally hit I almost flew right over it. Probably about a 70ft jump, if no tree there I probably would have covered 70+ no problem.

Good times, even though I still can't feel my fingers. COLD!!!!

Can't wait to do it again next week.

No one had a camera going. (crying).

I'm so glad I put the dace skid plate on the back. Hitting the ramp so hard really gouged that skid plate up bad! Course, thats what I bought it for. I just wish it was titanium for the sparks. Would look cool.

When I hit the ramp full bore the first time some new guys at the bash just about dropped their jaw and cried, "holy shit!"

The BIG AIR!!!!!!! JUMP

It was "SICK AIR" on Thirdgen's Part.
It was the farthest we have seen a BUGGY fly!
The tree did not stand a chance. It was naked of leaves already.
It was cold so even a branch broke off on the first attempt when he hit it.
But the 2nd attempt was INSANE!
He hit the ramp at FULL speed!
Everybody's Jaw hit the ground!
And when it hit the tree.It bounced back away from the center of the tree
It looked like it was climbing down from the top of the tree branch by branch.
It had to be at least 20-25 ft up in the middle of the tree.

He had to have jumped from the ramp to the tree a total distance of at least 70 ft.

SixV6Camaro was even impressed!!!!!!!

It was the highlight of the day!

The buggy survived but he didn't want to try it again at that speed!

OS.30 off a ramp in a light weight Jammin' Buggy spells (SUPER BUGGY!)
TOO bad I was busy trying to start my buggy or I could have caught it on Video.
It figures the one time a great moment happens (NO VIDEO!)
I did see it ! idea Cool Cool Cool
I've seen him do some crazy stuff but this one took the CAKE!

Someone bring a camera, either I'll hit the ramp and get a spectacular jump, or I'll miss the ramp and we'll get a spectacular crash. Either way, Spectacular!

Sunday's going to be cloudy, with a balmy 53* high, and a low of 36*. Bring something warm to drink.

Well, WOW is all I have to say. I was able to coax a 200ft long wheelie out of the truggy several times today! That in itself is impressive as its a 3 diff setup, and the center isn't locked. By no means could i just nail the gas and have it wheelie, I would land a jump and use the front end bounce to get it to nose up at full throttle. From there, I just kept the trigger buried and it would happily ride the rear wing for 200ft or so. And its repeatable. Was pretty cool watching the bystanders watch it waddle accross the green.

Single backflips, easy. I am working on getting up the nerve to hit the ramp at speed and pull a double or triple.

Lots of drag racing today, 3 ways galore. Smile

Hyper 7 w/Hyper 21 8port
Hyper 7 w/Mach 28
TTR Eb4 S1 w/Pro .21R
Jammin CRT w/Team Infinity .27 3port ($70 mill!)
Jammin X1 FTE w/OS 30vg

Had a few combinations. The Truggy was the slowest of the bunch, dead even for about the first 80 to 100ft, after that it ran out of gas and the buggies would walk it.

Hyper 7's and the TTR were on an even playing field, very close.

And the OS 30vg Jammin pretty much would walk about anything on the pavement. Could let all the others have a 20ft lead and still walk by at the end.

Jeff brought his Brushless/LiPo stuff back. He converted a XTM XLB to brushless, was a Neu motor, not sure which one, or which ESC, but running about 18v through it and it was QUICK. He didn't run it for long, still working on the gearing for it but man, it hauls through the grass, could have a LOT of fun with it. His BL Revo was also there and going strong.

Allen pulled off another backflip with the buggy.

And Tim ended up using his buggy's engine like a lathe. Stripped that clutchbell so bad it had a mirror like finish.

For $70 that TI .27 3port is an awesome buy. I've had piston and sleeves cost more! Good power too.

Had a good time today guys. Sounds like you had some fun after I left. Wish I could have been around for the drag races... Would like to have seen how the brushless matched up. Next week I guess.

Here is a link to a vid of one of the buggy jumps from earier today. I think this was Bill.

Also heres a link to a thread I have on my XLB Brushless Conversion. It also has some video of the Brushless XLB in action today. (In case anyone is interested)Cool

Yeah, the XLB brushless is cool. I did not expect it to move through the grass that fast. Sometimes movies make it seem like something is faster than it is because of the limited viewing angle the camera has, but this brushless XLB really is that fast. It plows through grass like it isn't even there. Its about as wide as my CRT, but about 2" longer wheelbase. Its a bit heavier than my truggy, but man it moves nice.

I would like to see what it could do at LH. With its acceloration it should get up to speed on the back stretch at LH very nicely. And the throttle control electric offers would be very nice indeed.

Wonder how that motor would push a true 1/8th scale buggy. Can't wait to see that.

Wow, I hit the tree again and NO one got it on film! Sad

All I want is to see the buggy fly. Sad

But man did I clip that curb hard off the ramp! Twised the left rear A-arm, snapped the sway bar endlink, and cracked the shock end cap in half. I also sheared the wing stay in half too. Thankfully I didn't bend the shock shaft but wow. That was a bad landing!

But some parts came so I took the buggy apart and fixed it all. While I was at it I put a new 17t clutchbell on it, since the 15t was too small for the 30. And also replaced my clutch shoes which were in a word...melted. And the inner clutchbell bearing was shot too. So its back to new again and I can't wait to see the speeds its capable of with the 17t clutchbell. It should pull past 50 easily now.

too big of a CB usually ends with a melted clutch. I know your motor has serious torque but I wonder if 15T CB was already pushing it?

They were used clutch shoes that I was given back in september. They've been on the motor for that long. The springs were also weak. We'll see how they last, if I melt them its no big deal.

With the math calculations it means that at peak power (OS States 3hp @ 28,000rpm, 3hp or not, i think the 28,000rpm is right). 28,000rpm means the car will be traveling about 40mph.

I know from timed drag races that the car covers 400ft in roughly 6 seconds from a standing start with a 15t clutchbell. Thats about an average speed of 45mph, with an engine speed of 36,000rpm.

I may have to experiement a bit to see what shoes/springs will work the best but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Well, I just ran it tonight an I can honestly say I got something to run now. Its a completely different animal. Higher clutch stall than with the old setup, I assume the springs are lighter than the other blue ones I had on there. Not sure which brand those were as they were donated.

But WOW. When its warmed up yanking the trigger sets off a 4 wheel drift before it hooks up and rockets away. I don't think the 17t clutchbell reduced my acceloration at all, in fact i think it accelorates harder for longer now. I can only assume that the old shoes were slipping pretty badly.

this is what the old shoes looked like. Though the pic isn't that clear the spring was actually contacting the clutchbell on one of the shoes!
