Ok, since we have threads about all other classes thought we needed one for this

So what should a newbie new to this class know?

As far as what kits are better than others?

What major spares are needed?

What tires are run at LH?

Any other important info

So, in other words your getting one, but just dont know which one yet.
Are you sure you want to do that, they're not very durable...lol

Even GQ had all kinds of issues with his last Sunday, then later on (I think in the main) I saw him carrying it in to the pit room broken Sad
Only two trucks finished the race, Thrash and someone else, not Sonny either.....Im not sure what happen to his though.

G, The Mugen kit isnt bad, its just so damn outdated and the parts are few. It does have breakage issues also. That was my first attempt at GT so i know the car well. You have to hop it up big time also. but for that price, you should buy like 3 or 4 of them for the parts.

Thanks Joe,

Not necessarily Eric, my interest is peaked but not biting the bullet yet. I am just looking at a way for me to learn throttle control and other driving tasks, and i have never driven one, so if I can get into one cheaply enough I may, just testing the waters right now...

Erik Johnny had throttle servo problems all day and in the main it stuck open and pounded him into a wall

The mugen drives good , but the durability is not there unless you add a few aftermerket hopups , probelem is they are hard to find . I would suggest an Ad-2 or the new GT2 , parts are easily available . I have a new GT2 on the way and will give it a try , gonna be hard to top my Losi though , the truck did very well for me . I think gas truck is fun , and its inespensive compared to 1/8 buggy or truggy . For tires go with pink tapers in the rear or C switches and i run holeshots on the front of my losi to take away some steering . Pink directionals , or panther multi ribs in C work well too .

Mike why are you so against 1/10 scale ? This is a hobby and we need to make it grow and help each other , negative comments on certain classes wont help , ecspecially from sponsored drivers .

Eric, they arent made to take a ton of abuse like a buggy/truggy. Just looking at it you can tell you have to be smooth with it no matter what. Ya gotta have throttle finger control big time and they arent very forgiving, but it is the funnest class for me to run. Most of the fast guys started with GT before buggys. I know Matt and Kevin are running the class also, Kevin has been running it for as long as i have i think. I know it has helped me out alot with the other classes as i have had some really good finishes this year. I think its great that some of you guys are leaning towards the GT class now. Its starting to make a comeback and get competative agian, which is a good thing.

As for johnny car, he told me he had a servo lock up on him and it crashed into the wall and broke some stuff. If you know GQ like me and Mikey know GQ, you know how he builds his stuff. The guy uses a butter knife for a screw driver and a pairs of scisors for pliers! LOL

Thanks Eddie,

Looking seriously at the ad-2. Hoping I get get some cheap now that the gt2 came out....

DO you have to run a .12 or .15 in them.

Eddie, I was waiting for you to chim in. I agree on the GT2 thing, im really torn between giving up the drake, that thing is awesome and its going to take alot of the GT2 to top it. I have 2 GT2's on the way also, man do i hope it works out as good as the Drake. Fingers crossed.

I think Mikey was just being sarcastic, he may be driving GT this season aswell.

Run a .12 , os CVR is a good choice , keep an eye on the bearings though , or get a nova rossi CX-12 side exhaust ,rotary carb , smooth engine with plenty of power . Lots of little tricks in 1/10 scale that make it easier to dirve and be able to LTPD !!!!!

G, a .12 is all you need, besides, there are no good .15 out there anymore.
