The biggest plus about the wing is not the improved flight control it gives (which is minor IMO) but the huge safety factor it has.
Ever notice how the back of the body always gets mangled first and fast? Never will happen with a wing (unless the wing breaks off). You won't scratch up or bend the head on the motor. Acts as a wheelie bar.
It's ~$25 insurance. Can't beat that. Plus it looks cool.
