Actually no. Every now and then I will use the e-brake to start the drift, but then almost never after that. I think the actual term for the way I do it is called a "Scandinavian Flick" or something. Basically you turn the opposite way that you are turning to get the weight of the vehicle to shift, then you snap the wheel the other way. It is just like if you are in a drift and swap the side you are drifting to, you feel the big weight shift. Same affect.
So if I am going to drift to the left.... I go straight, turn to the right (fairly hard) to get the weight to shift, and then I snap the wheel to the left. The rear end will kick out and then it's just like a RWD car from there, but you have to hit the gas at different times. You can do it when it's dry, but it takes a lot more speed. That is why I play in the rain and snow.
