I don't think macs blow at all. I don't like the hardware restrictions, but I do like OSX very much, especially in comparison with Vista.
I can see doing a theme on XP or Vista, but hardly on OSX. Its a very good OS. There are things about both platforms that I don't like but I work with Macs daily, IS Administrator is my title. Our servers are all Wintel/SGI/Barco based, and our desktops are Mac based.
Macs are very good in the work place when mounting a server volume. Its easy as pie. Plug the IP of the server in, and it gives you a list of volumes to mount. PC side, you gotta know the IP and the volume share name, and you have to type it in exactly right. Then if you want to mount it as a drive you have to map it, and there are only A-Z to choose from.
However PC's are far more upgradable and cheaper to upgrade to boot. Don't like something change it. Think windows is fugly, theme it. You can do a crapload.
I am seriously leaning towards a intel mac for my next machine simply because I can run XP and OSX at the same time. I've got home built box, and a Mac powerbook laptop at home. I use them both. The mac is underpowered and only has 512meg so I generally use it to browse late at night when I don't feel like powering up the beast.
If someone relesed a version of OSX that ran on PC hardware I'd be all over it.
