FYI the akula class is a typhoon class sub. (for some reason i thought it was a boomer sub but is looks like it is a mix of a boomer and attack sub, there are conflicting stories of the sub)
AKULA is the russian classification the NATO classification is tyhoon class, the akula and typhoon class are one of the same
I know most of that... I spent a few years hunting them I think that they actually had some Akula's with missile tubes also.. memory is a bit fuzzy
I'd only seen Seawolf in the docks, not the finished product
