This is the "addition" I was thinking of if he realy does decide to move the trainset. Its based on a 4x8 layout 20" high (to match the other section). The front 2' would be rock and the rear 2' would be the climb. Construction would be foam (4" white polystyrene) covered in red dyed concrete. each section would be built seperate and stacked one ontop of the other to give the look of rock strata. I did this around my Pond in my backyard and it works realy well. It would take 2 4x8 pieces of foam and about 4 bags of crete (you dont actually cover the entire piece with the exception of the top). The big advantage is that it can be built offsite and brought in and stacked together as a finished product. Dont have to worry about all the mess in the shop.
