test scores alone mean nothing.
schools look at your GPA and the class you took in HS as much as test scores.
I know many students with 30-31 ACT's who could not get into UofI Champaign because their GPAs were low, AND they did nothing else while in HS. The leadership, student government, community service, jobs, etc....all add up to well rounded students that colleges are seeking to admit. Very competative schools like Champaign gets apps from all 50 states and getting in from IL is tougher every year.
Contact admissions officers with schools you feel are the kinds you want to attend. With GPA, class rank and test scores, they can tell you pretty quickly if you will get in.
IF you go to the Big East schools, they also want good SAT's and SAT reasoning scores, as well
