Introducing Green Tee

I'll just "quote" what the O.P. on NAXJA.org posted about the project. Check out the vids he posted too, all is work safe, but you do need Quicktime to view the vids.

This all started with an idea over dinner last year. I had meet a guy who converts vehicles to run 100% electric powered. I gave him a hand finishing up his car last year and we became friends. I happened to have a '27 Model T fiberglass body and a basic frame, that I was going to build a hot rod out of. As I started thinking, "hey, wouldn't it be cool to build it as an electric". We talked it over and felt it would be a great project but we both had other things going on so it was on the back burner. Well, the week before Labor Day weekend I met up with him at dinner. He asked if I was still interested in doing the roadster project? Sure I said. Then he hit me with, there is the National Electric Drag race in 6 weeks, think we can build it and have it ready to race? Umm.... sure?!

So 5+ weeks later we are coming up on the race. It's this Sunday and we are hoping to set a world record with it. My friend already holds a couple with his other car. Monday night we test drove it for the first time. Still lots of details to finish up but thought I might share this with everyone here.

I bring you... Green Tee, most likely the first '27 Model T electric roadster.

Wiring up the motor. It puts out a max 450 HP and 1000 ft lbs of torque. We are running direct drive to the rear axle.


Batteries... a lot of them. They are Lithium Ion cells, combined for 290 volts DC at about 1000 amps!


First Drive this past Monday (I know it's not street legal but we needed to test)
