If it wasnt a joke people wouldnt bash it... They are trying to push it as a crawler and its not, its nothing more than a weak version of the e-revo with a couple bells and wistles. The first time to nail something hard with it all those pretty lights will break. If they want it as a speedy basher then they should have given it a top speed over 25mph. They keep wanting to run duel batteries when its just not needed. Maybe if they actually came out with a new truck instead of a rehashed version of the same rtr stuff they already have, maybe then people wouldnt bash it.
Exactly, its just a poor design that fell way way short of what it could have been. I wouldn't use indenpendent for crawling. Would you use solid axles for racing? I know it doesn't work, people used to bring emaxx's and the like to my comps they did ok until it came to climbing hills or transversing anything with a angle they couldn't even complete the course. You can clearly see that in the video, everything is either on a downhill slope or very abrupt climbs there is no off camber slick rock, long tough climbs, gatemarkers ect.
It would be no different if traxxas made all these claims that they are going to release a world class top fuel dragster. Then when it comes out it would be nothing more then a 2wd revo with drag slicks and a sweet wing. The suspension is of wrong design, the vehicle is to heavy to be effective, vehicle was designed originally from the ground up for a different use, really just a polished turd.
With that said I have no issues with it. It's a entry level truck traxxas is selling to beginners who have no clue what a rock crawler is. All they want is a truck they can crawl with.
