The OS 30vg is pretty much a leased motor. You buy one, it dies, send it in, and they usually replace it. I've bought parts motors on fleabay, assembled them, sent them into OS and wala generally get good as new engine, or a brand new engine back. They did that for the .18tz I sent in, as well as the various 30vg's I've sent in about once a year.
As for axial, I'm sure if you have Als send it in for you it'll get covered. The companies are always more likely to trust the word of a hobby shop over a consumer.
