Backlight Kit for MRC Superbrain 989

I'm looking to replace the top shelf plate with something a little more elgant. I was thinking carbon fiber but it would cost ~$75. Too much. Diamond plate is cool but I don't have anything that will cut steel except maybe a dremel (not very neat).

Any ideas?
