What up fellas I'm finally in!!
Looks like I have the go ahead to spray the acoustical material on some
of the walls and sealings at Leisure Hours Raceway.
After talking to the owner of the company I work for (Mike Wilkin of
Wilkin Insulation) He agreed to let me use all the equipment necessary
to do the job.
I have worked for Wilkin Insulation for the past 12 years and have
sprayed fireproofing and Acoustical insulation for the last 8 years.
The material I'm going to be spraying is called K13. K-13 is made from
natural recycled fibers that have been chemically treated to add
resistance to fire, mold and mildew. It's cotton-like texture and wide
variety of standard and custom colors enable K-13 to be used as an
attractive surface finish in both new construction and renovation
projects. Its acoustic advantages significantly improve ambient sound
quality in key projects such as auditoriums, sports facilities,
detention facilities, television and sound studios, convention centers
and parking garages.
Of course this material will not completely eliminate how loud indoor
racing is but it will defenetly help. For more info on K13 go to
http://www.spray-on.com.
If anybody is interested in helping out this weekend at LHR please
come on down. There were like 12 guys last weekend helping out and that
was great. A lot of those guys are planning on coming back this weekend
also. If you just want to come by and check out the progress and say hi
thats cool too. If we end up with a lot of help like we did last Weekend
I'm sure Bernie could find something for you to do. There is nothing
better than to work and talk about RC all day with your fellow racers.
If anybody has a connection with a lift company or knows someone who
can let us use one for the weekend(Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The
work will probably start on Friday) Please let Bernie or my self know.
Bernie has been working his butt off at LHR and the wait is well
worth waiting for!!
Thank you every one,
Sonny O.
