I agree with michowski and maxxgs. Here's what I think. In the end, it's a hobby, and it's supposed to be fun. You build and race and bash whatever truck is fun to you. Build what you like.
I raced a savage and sucked bad with it, but I still raced it. Why you ask? I liked that truck. It was a great basher, easy to maintain, and didn't break much (until I had an unfixable ring and pinion issue). I got some great high flying antics on tape with the truck and loved every minute of it.
Bottom line is do what is fun for you, not what others say is fun. Everyone has their own opinion and it's exaclty that, an opinion.
