Quote:First off, I don't think the kids were "sent" out there. They wanted to be out there, they think it's fun.
Second, the parent of the kids didn't even drive (that I saw), he was socializing.
I didn't realize that the kids today were out their on their own, and sorry if what I said offended anyone. I know that when I used to take my son with to the track, He chose to marshal on his own as well, but I also pulled him off the track when the drivers started getting too wild, for his own protection.
Not sure if anyone remembers at the old track, I watched a guy walk in the door, wald his 6-7 year old daughter onto the track and tell her to flip over the cars when they are turned over. He then proceeded to walk into the pit area and BS with all his friends. about 15 minutes later, the girl got nailed by a LST running Full Throttle, which took her off her feet, and sent her shoe down the straight. When I finally found her father, he never even realized it had happened.
I'd hate to see the track end up closing it's doors because a kid gets hurt and the parents decide to sue.
It's just sad that a lot of the people involved in the hobby can't take 15-20 minutes (continuous) out of their day to marshall, when there are little kids, who aren't fully aware of the danger involved, are willing to go out there for hours on end.
