AM is 27mhz, FM is 75mhz, spektrum is 2.4Ghz. They are all on different frequency bands, so with that said, you are correct in your understanding. All the AM and FM channels could be used up and it still wouldn't interfere with someone who has spektrum.
Also, think of spektrum as a fully automatic frequency clip board. There are 79 available channels (i think). The radio will automatically search for an open channel and take the virtual clip for it when you turn on your radio and transmitter. It automatically puts it back when you turn it off. It know's when a channel is taken, so you'll never get on the same channel as someone else . Full Proof .
