The reputation system is a honor based system which can rank members based on the usefullness of their posts. If you find someone's post very helpfull, you can leave them positives reps for that post and vise versa. As far as seeing who left the comment, all that a member has to do is leave their name in the comment area .
Now, where it gets interesting is in the power ranking. By default, when you leave a positive rep, you'll give the other member 1 point. You can gain reputation power with your post count, the length of your membership, and your rep points. Using tex as an example, he no longer will give you 1 point for giving you rep. He'll give you 53 points everytime he gives you rep for a post.
