Project #2 for the website is now underway. This one will be to turn my GS Storm into a competative (I hope) 1/8 racer. While the storm may not be the best choice, it was a cheap buy from a friend, lots of parts where donated by firesprink last month, so it was clear cut to use this as my base since a big portion of my funds went into purchasing the revo.
I weighed it before beginning tear down, but I forgot to write it down. Last I remember, it was 7lb ?oz.
First up on the list was to get rid of the old mangled chassis in favor of the donated one since it was a much better condition. Parts are slowly getting cleaned up and installed.
It was purchased as a roller and I've been driving it with the old (stock) electronics since my buddy doesn't need that stuff yet. I went out and picked up some new electronics and a jr receiver (so I can use my xs3 pro for this one too). A hitec 925 ultra speed servo for the throttle/brake and a hitec 945 ultra torque for the steering. I may get some light ribbing from some you for choosing hitec for servos but mind you, I have had great luck with their servo before, so I still use them. Here go some pics for your viewing pleasure.
