You can find a JR XS3 for around $200 new at the hobby shop, the pro will put you back $250. Extra Rx's are around $70 each. When I first got into the hobby, I thought that was a lot for a radio, but now that I see the benefits, it was a small price to pay. The GREAT thing about a higer end radio, besides being synthesized, is that all the settings are kept digitally. No more worrying about the trim dial getting bumped of setting, and they have multiple model memory (XS3 has 6 model, XS3 pro has 10) so the settings for each car you run off the radio are stored seperately in the radio.
