IF you can pick up a decent used Radio w/ 2 RX's, GRAB it... Even if you just start off with the Savage and TC3 on one radio, and the Stampede's all on their own radios.
The regular JR XS3 (Black one) has a 6 model memory, which means you can store settings (Trim, frequency, servo reversing, etc...) for up to 6 cars/trucks. The XS3 Pro (Silver one) has a 10 model memory.
If you are going to be doing any racing at all, I would HIGHLY recommend a Decent quality digital Radio. Preferably FM, beacause it has a "cleaner" signal than AM. You could go with a Crystal based radio, but you'll need to get a couple "Back-up" channels, just in case there is a conflict at the track. One of the BIG benefits of a digital radio, is the trim settings are kept in memory. Youi don't have to fine tune your trim each time you start your car. You have kids, I'm sure they like to turn the little dials sometimes....
