Define requires stakes. Are they needed to keep the top on or something?

I picked up me ez-up from sports authority. It was on sale Smile Saved like $40 or something Cool Only time stakes are required for these is during windy days to keep you canopy from flipping over.

This is the one I got. I have picked it up when it was $80 Smile. clicky
