Unless you can handle this fresh water stuff like the back of your hand then by all means.
Marine set up is expensive and for it to be done right.
Then the start up process can be a PITA and frustrating.
Then you have to have plenty of patience before you add any live stock which many ppl fail this area big time(Myself included when I started).
If you do decide to.
Get everything and I mean everything first and don't cheap out and cut corners--you will be sorry you did.

I am seriously thinking of selling my 20g tank with custom OAK stand and canopy with MH lights, Actinic Lights, Sump, Skimmer, Skimmer pump, Return pump, Heater.
The stand and canopy will fit a 55g tank but I designed this for the 20 to sit on the left or the right side with the opposite side closed off with a door in the front.
The tank will have one side view and front view. I still have to drill holes on the glass yet.
If there is room under there I was thinking on making a top off tank for it as well.
Heck I will even toss in 100g salt mix to get it going.
