RS4 Set up for tinley!!!

What's the ideal setup?

I already have 40 shore tires, f/r, and I lowered everything about as low as it can go without hitting the ground, is there anything else I should do, as it's pretty much stock RS4 3 18ss kit, but with a PL Nemesis body. I also have my DR turned down to 85%.

get to the track really early so you can get maximum practice time, have the parts that break alot handy, make sure your battery is fully charged the day of the race and be ready to re-charge if you practice alot. Have a hole cut for the transponder if you don't have a personal. Make sure you have additional frequency crystals in case of conflict.

The number one thing to do at Tinley:

Do not turn your radio on even for a second if you don't own the channel.

Yep, I'm pretty much covered for that, I have an xs3, have a transponder hole, charger. I mostly ended up leaving my tag up on the freq. board, I checked and nobody else was using it, so it didn't really matter.

I'm assuming there's going to be a really good turn out for the last race being that it's a points race. Don't expect to be able to leave your tag up there past a battery or a tank of fuel.

I have someone walk up and put my tag up while I'm starting the car if I can. Otherwise, I walk up before I start the car to put my tag up. Not such a big deal for me since I have a synthesized system.

One thing I really like about Tinley is attitude. Although people are out to win if they bump into you or knock you around their always apologetic. No one is really out to knock a new guy out of the race.

If you keep racing you will remember that Tinley is one of the most laid back places ever to race. Probably zero pressure. For whatever reason the indoor carpet season is much more intense...no pun intended.

Also you'll see if you switch from just bashing to racing you end up traveling a lot farther to race. Generally a 1 hour trip is the norm.....if not farther.

After my first race I tried to set everything up for ease, one thing that really got me my first race was time. Even though it seems like there is a lot of time between races, one problem, and it gets eaten up quick.

I cut the holes in my body so I practically never have to take it off. I can start it, put the transponder on/off, and refuel.

I like getting lots of practice, but when the faster guys are out it's better for me not to be on the track. One good hit and I'm out for the rest of the day unless I can repair it.
