Well MXKevin has one and I've driven it. I love it! The thing drives like my tricked out Revo but it's WAY faster. That Sportwerks .26 is an insane powerplant and he has the medium carb restrictor plug in AND is running it super rich.
The stock tires suck. Get a set of Panther Pythons, put strapping tape inside to stop the ballooning, put on a wing and good electronics and go kick everyones ass in the corners! Just don't let Lance drive it! LMAO!!!!

Not knockin the mayhem but if i were you id get a truggy with and extended chassis like the LSP or OFNA . ALSO these trucks come with long arms not just buggy arms with extention adapters... Like with anything you buy electronics,engine,wheels and tires would have to be upgraded ... The stock engine is a force .26 i sold mine on ebay for like 100 bucks so that help with the price of the truck
I have an LSP and love it. After curing a few weak points (front hinge pin brace,Ackerman arm) and adding alittle bracing to stop chassis flex. The truck Is unstopable!!!!! Ive raced mine since about feburary and the only thing ive had fail durning a race was a turnbuckle end and it was my fault for hitting a jump with too much speed and landing on the rear tire. DirtdawgsRC has an lsp and has THROUGHLY tested the durability of the truck (many have seen his testing methods :bustingup (Just messin wit ya G!) He also runs a super ulta powerful engine a Novarosssi 528 Eight port and has had ZERO problems with the drivetrain!!!! Another high point for the LSP is part are dirt cheap (and readly avalible now) Just for exsample a front C-hub set is like $4.50!!!!! Thats super cheap bro!!! If you decide to go with the LSP drop me a line i can help get you info on what to upgrade!

From what ive seen, my mayhem will grab every inside corner where the lsp need to brake slide to stick it tight. Extended chassis are great for roughf fast outdoor tracks, I think the Mayhem will rule the indoor sceen. 3 races with it so far, DNF for first, 3rd for second race and 2nd. to John Adams in my third race. Third race was a tight track. John Drives a LSP and is a great driver.
My .26 is just as fast as those with 528 NOV.. Maybe I got a good one, lucky me.. I dont think anyone runnung a lsp has a stock motor in it. The Mayhem does have long arms and super forgiving suspension. The only suspension adjustment ive done so far is giving it toe out. Its came with toe in. Mayhem also shares alot of the same parts as the buggy so durability shouldnt be a problem (Bearings, Diffs.,Chassis, ect. Diffrent pinion gear tho) I have broke rear arms. Correction, I broke 1 arm first time out, Lance broke the other tryen it out after a race, but $9 for two isnt bad and there interchangeble from left to right. Stock shock tower are on the weak side, but the wing I installed helps protect the rear one. Mods... The stock body and tires have to go. That square box body is butt ugly. Tires should not be alowed on a race track. I peeled them off since they wernt glued that well and put on a sey of Bow Ties. I also put on the extended motor mounts and Chassis stiffeners, and replaced steering and brake cam bushings with bearings. Also changed the center diff oil to 50,000wt.. Ever see a truggy wheely? Ill probably bring that down to 30,000wt. Also changed the plastic radio tray standoffs to aluminum. And the Tray itself to carbon fiber for some Bling Bling. Jr 8800t servo for steering. All in all im pretty happy so far and think only my driving is keeping me from 1st place. If your planning on racen, and racen indoors at Leisure Hours, Get a LSP

The SW .26 is a good motor its a xtm/mach (so ive read) with a better carb, ive owned a bunch of xtms... All have been fantastic.. Your truck definetly turns very well but i think an ext.chassis doesnt just help in the ruff stuff closely spaced jumps or poorly excued jumps/landing are smoothed out better by a longer chassis.. I find my truck turns well, not as well as yours though.... Hopefully with differnt diff tuning and tire combos my LSP will turn

I've seen Kevin land a bit short and/or off kilter on a few jumps and that Mayhem was very forgiving.
Since we all spend the majority of the year racing indoors at LH I think his tight turning truck is the way to go.

Rocco brought up a good point. Jumping. I have seen that with the extended chassis trucks they'll have a smother more controlled arc and correction in the air is almost not needed (acording to Thrash with MSR).. My second race, at the Big DD track, I had a hard time getting threw some bigger jumps. I just need to be smoth with the throttle and keep the trottle on. (Hard to do when your monster truck is faster than your buggy. Whiswky Throttle.) Any little correction needed in the air happens in a BIG way. If a little brake tap is needed, I need to wait till the last sec. cause the car will nose down fast.
Any way, i Chose the Mayhem causeI have thier buggy also, Im comfortable with the brand and thats where my loyalties stand. (Not mentioning the price tag.) And Its kinda cool haven people gawking over the new truck. Im loving the attention. Nice ice breaker to meet new poeple. :wavey:

I have to talk up the LSP, since I own one and have owned many other truggies in the past. But no matter what truck you buy it is all in the hand of driver. Vehicle and set up play a role, but it is mostly driver. And you must finish to win. All above had good comments, and I have seen and raced against MX Kevin and I have also raced against another ST at Glitchers. AT Glitchers the truck was plagued with probs, not downing the truck it very well could have been set up and driver. Kevin ran his well, but I am a fan of the larger wheelbase, It suits my driving style. As far as the ST being the truck to beat at LH that remains to be seen, but I remember at our spring shoot out two LSP's (Eric and Joe T) flying around the small LH track. So I believe the LSP will hold its own this winter. But my opinion as biased. The only thing I have to disagree with is the comment that the mayhems stock engine can run with the novarossi 28. Most here have seen mine run and it is insanely fast, I had to detune the engine so much just so that it is contolable. At the last race after the 10 mnute a main on an empty tank the engine temped at 170. Not to mention the incredible amount of wheel spin I had a the DD track. This will not happen this weekend, got a new set of tires en route as we speak..... I also agree with Kevins rational about having the buggy and the ST so the parts are interchangeable I enjoyed that when I had the 3 k cars. It is cheaper and easier that way. Either truck is good, look at product support and what the locals are running since you will have a better chance of borrowing something trackside. Sorry about the book, have been away for a week, so need to fill my post qouta.

Any Feed Back From The Lighting Pro I Think That Is The Way I Am Leaning That Is For The New Pro R . I Don't Need Radio Or Motor So Just Thought Try Some Thing Differnt, I Have The Mayhem Buggy And I Really Do Love It, But Might As Well Try Somethig Differt I Also Have A Revo With A Center Diff I Built In The Stock Tranny With Two Speed. And I Have A Lst, Jato,evader Nitro, Truggy T-maxx. Any Body That Does Not Like The Lighting??

I think the better deal will be to buy the pro version still and sell the electronics and engine. Thats what I did to offset some of the upgrade costs. You seem to have alot of rc's and I bet you hop them up, so I would still swap out the HB aluminum for some nice KIng Headz parts.
ultimatehobbies.com has the Pro for 459.00 and free shipping. That is a steal, say you get 130.00 bucks for engine and electronics you get a nice truck for $330

I am from mn It is a fair to really difficult mod if you do not have machineing eqip. the rear brake setup if a real pain but it all seams to work good. The problem i had first was gears going out due to the fact i had to narrow them to fit in the case, but since i revised it seams to be holding up yet. have not had thick enough fluid in the diff yet i started at 7-10-20-30 going up to 50-60 next. I my make some more parts if every thing holds. They would't be very cheap do to the fact of lot of time put in them.
