Revo Linkages - Stock ones are trash
#1
What are all of you guys using for the throttle linkages, etc. I really don't like the way the throttle/brake is set up. If I remember right, Satoch has a metal PN5368 (the right angle lever that pulls the slide carb's ball), am I right? I was going to replace the linkages and servo horns, but I'd like some pictures of your Revo's linkages so that I can get an idea of what to do.

Actually I have both slide carbs and rotary carbs for my TZ, TM and 2.5r motors. I use the rotary carbs in the summer for the lower bite/looser outdoor tracks because they have less bottom end snap and are less likely to break the tires loose. I'll be running the slide carbs in the winter on the high bite LH dirt.

I prefer the rotary carbs because they have less parts to wear out. I've found that the plastic and/or aluminum throttle levers wear and become a point of binding. I've had this happen several times. It is advisable to take a piece of antenna tube and put it on the throttle arm on the carb so there's not metal on metal contact when using the aluminum throttle lever arm. You will have to CA it on and use a nail file to get it to fit just right. Works very well though.

Is the alum throttle arm a traxxas part? Got a PN/maker? What did you use to make your linkage? Was it a peice of coat hanger?

The think with the stock one is that it's too flexable. With the stock everything, and the stock radio, it's not opening the carb up to the fullest extent. Since the radio has no EPA, DR, EXP, I have to set everything using collars and springs. Blah! I need another spektrum receiver so I can use my 3pk, damnit. I'd use the receiver that came with my 3pk, but that HRS receiver will only work with digital servos; something that the revo dosen't have from the factory.
