Glad you came out, if you guys have no better place to race on the 23rd come on out, It wont be real big money unless a ton come out, BUt hey its close and you can stretch the engines out on the track. Get Sonny to come on out, see if you guys can win some Beer money for Cali.
A friend will help you move, but a REAL friend will help you move a body.

I don't think the next race will take as long with there only being a few classes.

Start earlier my ass!! Some of us have to travel an hour and a half or more to get to these races as they are!! Believe it or not, not everyone lives in the damned west suburbs...

Buy a real car and get there faster. It was just a suggestion, I may be wrong but didnt the track open at 7am this last Sunday? If you want to be serious about racing, then you got to be serious about racing. Ive left my house, thats located in the damned west suburbs, at 4am then drive to St.Louis to race and come right back home. 1.5 hours to get to a track is a cake walk. You dont get into this sport/hobby to play in your backyard. Ill keep my suggestions to myself and just wait for an invite from the club.

1 1/2 to get to Elburn ? Takes me 45 minutes to get out there. Get that thumb out and get it done. Tell Lance to step on the gas when hes driving !!!!!!! =P

I'm not speaking just for myself. We have people from Waukegan and Libertyville that also come.
And Snakebite, we had a car but sold it. It was crazy to pay $250/month just to park it here in Lincoln Park. I'd like a car again but we would have to move (or win the lottery) and we like this neighborhood.
10-13-2005, 07:52 AM
Decisions, decisions. Cough up the 250 and get yourself a small car yet big enough to haul your shit around dude. =)

I'm actually trying to get my girlfriend to sell this condo and buy a bigger house with me on the brown line or up by you. That way I can have a garage. Then I'll get a car and a new buggy!!! Without a car I can't race 2 classes.

$250 to park in the city is a damn bargain, you should be happy to pay that premuim and get a parking spot. You mean you have to depend on someone else to get to a track? Damn, thats a lot of GAS MONEY to give to someone for a ride. Get a small econo car dude.

Yeah, I've been getting rides and chipping in gas money this summer. When LH is done I'll just use the Metra and a cab. That's only $25 round trip.
A car doesn't make sense. With an unlimited use bus pass for only $75/month. It works out very well. My total traveling expenses are only $175/month-most of that to go racing. My office is just west of downtown and I work out of the house most of the time. My clients are mostly downtown. I've done the math, a car is just not worth it. If I really need one I just rent one.
